Seagrove House in Historic District St. Marys, 2 blocks to river - Dog Friendly
Come and stay awhile! (2 week Minimum - priced accordingly) Relax in the shade of the moss draped, ancient oaks and cedars St. Mary's is famous for. Seagrove House is just 2 blocks from the Waterfront Park and live music; playground; kayak, fishing tackle, and bicycle rental; restaurants, shops, museums; the Cumberland Island Ferry landing, and everything St. Mary's has to offer. Enjoy viewing the wildlife - and also the regular festivals and live music at the park. Bring your well-behaved dog and experience the peace and privacy of a large, screened porch and fenced back yard. Convenient to Kings Bay Naval Base, and the beaches. Cable wireless and a printer/ copier for remote work. There is space in the side yard to park a boat trailer, and a carport to load and unload your car out of the rain. The house was built in the '40s, with a third bedroom and second bathroom added above a family room a few decades later. All was updated just a few years ago. The exterior is the traditional tabby - just like many of the buildings from the early 1900s and before. This is our winter home, we have a navy family, and we welcome those who need a temporary furnished home.

Felt like home. Loved that they could accomodate our 3 pups. Would definitely recommend. St Marys is a lovely place and the house is within walking distance to restaurants, the water and some really cool antique/vintage stores.
We love staying at St Marys! It’s perfect spot to stay, it’s quiet and a very welcoming town. It is also easy to get to other locations easily-Jekyll island and Amelia beach are two of our favorites. Being able. To bring our dog is another plus.
Katherine and Scott are awesome to work with.
Overall the property is beautiful on a very nice lot with huge trees. My mother, dad, aunt and uncle all enjoyed their stay very much. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place off the beaten path thats private and quiet. Will book again if the need arises. Thank you
The location was perfect to walk around with my dog, along with having a screened in porch and fenced yard. I worked on a table out of the back room with the door open to the screened porch on pretty days. Location is perfect as hour to St Simon/Jekyll Island as well as Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island. Walking distance to catch the ferry to Cumberland Island.
Great location in St. Marys. Close to town and the park. We stayed here to celebrate the holidays with our daughter and family in Kingsland. Our three little grandchildren loved the oranges and candies you left. The kids thought it was so special to have a few sleep overs with us in “our new house”. These are memories we will cherish. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
A perfect house for our two week vacation. It is a relaxing and quiet neighborhood. A great central location for all of our activities. We enjoyed the house. It was clean and had everything we needed. We lived sitting in the screened in porch during the evening. A big thanks to Scott, he was just a text away whenever we locked ourselves out of the house. He had it open by the time we were back from sunrise. We love this house and can’t wait to come again.
Loved house and location! I hate to even say anything negative, but, the only minus for us was the unmoved yard. We did contact Scott and he sent someone quickly to mow. I only mention this because we had our dog with us.
My daughter and her two young children ages three and one, stayed here for two weeks while we took care of my other daughter’s two children same ages while she recovered from having a newborn. We also had her dogs with us. The house was very pet friendly and the dogs loved the backyard. Once we found the pooper scooper hanging on the fence it was much easier to clean up after them. The home was very comfortable to stay in. The upstairs beds lacked a little comfort, but I tend to prefer much softer beds so that’s probably my own fault. The stairs to the home I wouldn’t and make a slight curve so I was very thankful to have the motion lights on them for safety. We loved the enclosed back porch, especially when it rained. The location was very convenient and within walking distance to the local playground, which was great to runoff some of the kids energy, especially when we had all four. it was also within walking distance to local restaurants like firefly which we enjoyed very much. The air conditioning worked very well, sometimes too well for my liking, considering my daughter likes to live in an icebox. The groundskeeper was very accommodating and came as quick as he could when we locked ourselves out of the house. The homeowner was easy to communicate with and very understanding. I only gave four stars to the listing because of the wording regarding the waterpark that is close by, but that misunderstanding was cleared up and we still enjoyed the amenities close by.
Great home for a monthly rental. The home is clean and comfortable, plenty of space for working remotely and living.
The property manager, Scott is attentive and responds quickly. The kitchen fluorescent lighting went out and the bulbs were replaced promptly.
Nice quiet neighborhood, short walk to the Sy Mary’s River waterfront park. My dog and I loved exploring the area. Several restaurants within walking distance. Residents are friendly. Antique shops and galleries nearby.
This house is very close to town and the waterfront, in a very pretty, quiet block of Seagrove St. Great property for dogs given the fenced yard and lovely areas for walking. Fit our needs well.
The house was clean, comfortable, and exceeded my expectations. We stay there for six weeks while working on a project nearby and couldn’t have been happier.
We loved the property and the area. Our kids are 13, 11, and 10. The little town was like a Mayberry and allowed the kids some freedom while keeping them close to us. We love the proximity to the restaurants and water front. And the house was perfect for our family of 5 and 2 dogs. The caretaker was very responsive and friendly. We will definitely be back.
We just fell in love with St. Marys and her people. Everyone is so friendly and the area is quiet and simply beautiful. Have you ever been to a place where you immediately felt at peace and as if you belong? Well, St. Marys was exactly that for us! I worked remotely from this lovely home for 3 weeks in July. Connection and speed of internet was exceptional and allowed me to stay online for meetings and all my other daily activities. The home was comfortable and the bed in the master was so comfortable! I always worry about that part as my husband has a bad back but he didn't have any issues and slept soundly. They kindly provide all the necessities you'll need to get started that first day or two (oil, condiments, spices, sugar, coffee, etc.,) which was a tremendous help. We grilled out almost everyday and having the screened in porch was perfect to eat our meals in. We didn't have to worry about any pesky insects disturbing us. We didn't mind the Georgia humidity, just turned on the fan provided and enjoyed eating outdoors. The home is close to the downtown area, just a short 3 to 5 minute walk and you are at the waterfront, park and places to shop/eat. I loved that the home is older and in the tabby style. I love history so it seemed fitting that the home was part of the towns history. The home was clean, comfortable and the perfect size for us. The property manager Scott is an absolute gem! He checked on us numerous times throughout via text and let us know he could be right there if we needed him to be. I loved the easy (contactless) check in/check out. I appreciate the owners being so easy to work with as well and I want to thank them for sharing their home with us. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking to relax and just reconnect with family and their own inner peace.
We were in need of someplace to stay while waiting for our new house. The Seagrove house was perfect. The fenced yard was super for privacy for our dog. All things needed were available. The property manager was extremely attentive and kept in contact with us.
Property is very "homey" , casual and comfortable! Enjoyed walks in amazing neighborhood--two blocks from St. Marys River and two blocks from Oak Grove Cemetery! My favorite activity was my afternoon bath in the amazing, light-filled, upstairs bath--I miss it already! Perfect for local family members to come and visit. Thank you for the relaxing and delightful stay!
This house was perfect for our month long stay in St Mary's. This house is comfortable, roomy, and had many extras that made our trip special. There is a screened in porch and a large kitchen. There are 3 roomy and private bedrooms and you can walk to anywhere in the historic downtown. All the shops and restaurants are a short and lovely stroll away. During our stay we invited family and friends and everyone enjoyed the house and all it had to offer. The price to rent was very reasonable and made it worth it to spend time and explore this part of the Georgia coast. We would definitely rent this gem again. We made a lot of precious memories here. Thank you!
Home is in a great location and provided everything we needed.
The only issue we had was a broken thermostat and without heat, the house got a little cold at night. We had two dogs with us the and the fenced yard is provided a great place for them to hang out. Our only recommendation would be to update the couch in the family room,
We would definitely stay there again,
Thank you
This roomy and comfortable cottage is just 2 blocks from the waterfront on a peaceful beautiful block! There is a great yard much appreciated by my dog and a nice screened in porch!
