About this property

Cumberland Queen Cottage

Our family owns the ferry service to Cumberland Island. The cottage pays tribute to the Ferrys that have taken passengers to the Island for the past 30 years. The Cumberland Queen was the first ferry. The current ferrys are The Cumberland Princess, The Cumberland Lady and the Cumberland Queen II. We have two original wheel house windows from the Cumberland Queen that were salvaged after it sank during hurricane Irma in 2017. You will have a two block walk to board the Cumberland Queen II on your visit to beautiful Cumberland Island. You will have views of the St. Marys River from your front porch and bedroom 2. The back patio overlooks the History Walking Park. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance from the cottage.

This townhome has recently been renovated with new appliances and furniture. Each bedroom has a full bath and smart TV. There is a half bath downstairs. Fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and washer and dryer. Dining room accommodates 4-6, also dining on the patio. Large smart TV in living room, free high speed internet. Seating on front porch with river views.

Relaxing Home & Great Location

My wife & I stayed here for our Anniversary. It was a comfortable stay with everything we needed. The house was a great location to restaurants, stores, & the downtown waterfront of St. Mary's. This was a perfect place for us to visit St. Mary's and our day trip to Cumberland Island.We would highly recommend this property to others. It was a memorable weekend & relaxing stay.

Amazing all around

This is truly one of the best places we have ever rented. The owner is amazing, great communication and very prompt with responses. The townhouse was very clean, very well stocked and the special touches in the home were all very welcoming and made us feel at home. The location is perfect, within walking distance of everything in St Mary’s. Honestly cannot say enough amazing things.

Perfect location, Kind hosts, and comfortable home

My adult children and i headed to our home town to visit family. The location meant we rarely used our car as everything was in walking distance. The place was immaculate and the beds were super comfortable. Check in/out super easy and we felt quite at home. Will definitely be back!

Adorable cottage

The cottage is even prettier than the pictures and provides everything needed. The location is perfect for sky watching across the street and access to town is a short walk. I hope to return!!

Fantastic Getaway

This is my second time at this home. It is an absolute perfect getaway, with easy access to a dock overlooking the river and a very short walk to town. Accommodations are luxurious, clean, and cozy. I hope to return for a Thursday!

Perfect getaway spot!

This cottage was as great as advertised. It was so beautifully decorated and perfectly appointed. We had everything we needed for a delightful stay: fluffy white towels; crisp, clean sheets; well supplied kitchen; several cozy indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing. The cottage was conveniently located to all that St Mary’s offers and the hosts provided great information on all the restaurants and local happenings. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay

This cottage exceeds all expectations. It was clean and the hosts had provided everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It is conveniently located close to the Cumberland island ferry. The town of St Mary's is a lovely town with plenty of things to see and do. I would highly recommend Cumberland Island Cottage.

A real jewel in the town

The first impression is the inviting look of the building. The inside is very attractive - decorated in a tasteful way, appropriate to the area. The beds, linen, blankets, pillows and bath towels are of nice quality. The pantry was stocked with some basics, such as salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, paper towels, water bottles etc. The location is convenient to downtown.

Perfection!

I recently stayed at this property with my two best friends. We were there over a weekend to visit Cumberland Island. We all agreed that it may be the best rental we've ever stayed. The property is so well decorated and stocked. The rooms were all so comfortable and clean. There has been so much attention to detail put into this place. I would love to come back and stay again some time. We could not get enough of it! We all kept saying how much we loved it. Everything was walking distance. St. Marys is a true hidden gem.

Hidden Gem!

We scheduled a quick trip to GA from NY to see our son who is stationed at Kings Bay. This was our first time not staying in a hotel. I’m so glad we found this cottage! It is in a wonderful location. The setting provided the opportunity to relax and visit with family and not feel penned. All amenities we could have ever needed were available. The cottage is bright, clean, and very comfortable! The property manager was readily available if I had any questions. I highly recommend this property and hope to have the opportunity to stay again when we visit St. Mary’s!

Great Property, Great Location, Great Town!!!

The house is lovely and inviting! The neighborhood was quiet for out stay. The park directly behind the back yard was nice. Pier directly across the street was beautiful in the evening. The town was nice and quaint. Things seem to shut down around 9pm this was not an issue for us. Of course Cumberland Island is beautiful and full of history. We were there on a holiday weekend so we did not have time to see all the local museums like we wanted, we this was expected. The location of this property is great and allows for a quick walk to town so no need to get in the car and drive, when you want to get dinner or just spend a little time exploring. Not a review for the Local Dockside, but great food!

Cutest little cottage

The pictures do not do this place enough justice. This was our first time in St. Mary's and I was traveling with myself and two small children. We pulled up and immediately just love with everything about it. From the cute little front porch to entering the home itself. I went shopping before hand but was surprised by all the little things they had available. The beds were comfortable and the home felt truly welcoming to make yourself comfortable during your stay. You could see the sunset from one of the bedroom windows but did go on the pier which is literally across the street to take in some views. My son, who is obsessed with boats, enjoyed seeing all the sailboats. The walk into town was very doable for a 5 & 7 year old as we easily walked into town the day we took the ferry to Cumberland. The owner was very accessible and more than accommodating, even mailed my child's toy we left behind. This definitely wont be our last time at St Mary's, I cant wait to revisit and will surely book this place again.

A Hidden Gem!

This place was awesome. St. Marys does not have a lot to offer however, this place is amazing because it is affordable, super clean! I mean you could see where someone vacuumed and the smell when walking in the door just was amazingly fresh. Never stayed somewhere so clean! It was a short walk to town and to the Cumberland ferry. Would recommend this for couples looking for a quiet weekend getaway. My 8 month pregnant wife and I stayed here for a weekend trip and we would definitely come back in the future. The host left us a sweet note on arrival telling us how thankful she was to have us and recommended some things to do. This would be a great basecamp place for a couple or a two couples who want to go and see things within a hundred miles. Such a gem! Highly recommend locals seafood all you can eat shrimp from 2-4pm!!!

Such a beautiful town home! The furnishings were top notch from the inviting decor, comfortable beds, down feather pillows, kitchen supplies, beach chairs and more! The townhome was so clean and fresh we didn’t want to leave! Perfect location to explore the quaint town of st. Mary’s and the history surrounding the area.
