The space:
Settle into the old world 1904 charm, featuring tall ceilings, hardwood flooring and a recently remodeled bathroom. A larger sliding glass door connects the deck to the main living area which features an Italian leather couch, wall mounted 70" 4k Smart TV, coffee table and extra seating. Dining room features a breakfast nook and seating for 4. Kitchen features a gas range, full size refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher as well as pots, pans, bowls, knives and other essential cooking utensils.

Walk up Union St in either direction to enjoy craft coffee and cocktails, buzzy local eateries, wine bars, breweries and dessert/donut shops. A full list of local recommendations that are walking distance will be sent after booking. If you don't mind taking the bus there is a line right out front that goes directly to Capitol Hill and then Downtown. There are also two grocery stores within a 5 minute walk, one is a high end natural market with a great hot food bar, produce/meat selection and the other is a budget friendly grocery outlet, great for grabbing a cheap bottle of wine and crackers in a hurry.
Internet/connectivity:
Gigabyte high speed Wi-Fi
Getting around:
Besides the one parking space in the driveway behind the house, there's also free overnight street parking (72hr max). However, at times the street parking can get tight. Of note we do not allow oversized vehicles, trucks, trailers, vans or any commercial vehicles in the driveway. You must find street parking for those vehicles.
There are bus stops in all directions within 2 minute walk. Uber's and Lyft's are less than 2 minutes away. There are also an abundance of e-scooters and e-bikes like Lime.
Other things to note:
This house has an additional studio apartment below with it's own private entrance, they are not connected inside. The only shared space is the driveway, each unit gets one parking space in the two car driveway.
About pets:
Pets are welcome with prior approval and an additional pet fee of $10/day.
***No pets without prior written approval. If you are planning to bring your furry friend, you must communicate that at the time of booking and additional payment request will be sent and must be paid.
Pet rules:
Take your pet to go to the bathroom off the property, it is very easy to do this, there are large grass patches along all the sidewalks. If your pet does happen to potty on the property you must bag, tie and dispose of it in an outdoor garbage can.
Check-in/access:
Although we provide self check-in by keycode for a completely contactless experience, we are available to help answer questions prior and during your stay. Check-in information including your keycode and wifi instructions will be sent at Noon PST on the day of your check-in.
House rules:
- No smoking, no candles
- Do not use the fireplace
- No parties
- No undisclosed overnight guests
- No shoes in the house

About the host

Seattle born and raised, I design video games, app and websites for local tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Redfin, Zillow and Starbucks.
Why they chose this property
Safe neighborhood with many great restaurants and views of both nature, lake and city scapes. Close to parks, universities and right off major bus lines in all directions. There is enough local activity that you never have to go downtown but when you do - it's right there!
What makes this property unique
With this house it was really all about location and being close to everything from Lake Washington to the Arboretum to Capitol Hill restaurants and nightlife and downtown. It's even close enough to Light Rail Stations that getting to and from the airport is quick and cheap.
