Happy to hear you were able to find our property easily! We take pride in our thorough cleanings between guests and hope all can utilize the driveway parking when needed.
Great location for Cyclone events! Walked 5 minutes to Hilton Coliseum for a basketball game! Ample room downstairs and up! Would definitely stay again while visiting Ames.

Thanks for your review! Glad you got to take advantage of the short walk to Hilton.
The property was clean, but had very basic furnishings. I would consider this a bare bones rental. It has the things you need, but no extras. We had trouble with the water being shut off by the city for repair work and wound up leaving early, but the host did refund us for one evening.

Thanks for being understanding of the water main repairs going on. We appreciated your communication throughout everything. Regarding the basic furnishings, I am hopeful that you were well aware of that prior to your stay based on the listing photos.
Perfect location with proximity to ISU campus and walking distance to Hilton coliseum and Jack Trice Stadium. It's an older home with creaky steps and worn hard wood floors but it was clean and comfortable. The host, Becca, was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to all questions and request. Hope to return again!

Thanks for your review. We would be happy to have you stay again next time!
Rental was sparse. Very little decor. Old home. Worn hardwood. Air conditioning only worked for first floor. None of us slept because 2 out of the 3 bedrooms were so hot. Searched for box fans but couldn’t find any. When the a/c was turned down the 3rd room was the only room that got the cooler air and then that room was freezing. Mattress were thin and covered in plastic. Nice yard but no furniture to enjoy it. This home has a lot potential but still has work to be done to get there.

Our listing photos are intended to give you an idea of our older home with charming original hardwood floors when booking. We are able to offer lower rates due to savings on decor and other furnishings, but do plan to add these extras as we build things up. I am sorry you and your guests were not able to find a comfortable temperature, the AC units in each bedroom closet would have been my next recommendation, so please reach out with concerns during your stay and we would be happy to address and work through them next time. Glad you can see the potential we are working on.
Not up to my standards for a VRBO rental - meaning it does not feel like home when you walk in. There are no lamps in any room, walls are bare with the exception of a hanging cutting board. The large sectional is the only piece of comfortable furniture in the living room. Not great for a group that wants to sit and socialize. The backyard is fabulous but bring your own chairs. The kitchen is sparsely equipped which made cooking a challenge - no foil, one small sharp knife, dishes were not clean, no salt/pepper, etc. In my VRBO experiences, rentals have all of these small amenities that convey comfort. When I am on vacation, I don’t intend to bring or purchase any of these items. Mattresses are covered in plastic with no mattress pad between the plastic and sheet. I understand the need for protecting the mattress, but this does not make the beds comfortable or cozy. The house feels it is in mid-reno but has huge potential. Small details and additional amenities would make a huge improvement. This may feel like a harsh review. When I rent a VRBO I anticipate a space that is not like a hotel - that feels like home. In a college town it may be hard. However, I’ve stayed in another Ames rental that was absolutely fabulous- but not big enough for my group this year.

Thanks for the feedback. No lamps, minimal decor, current furnishings are all visible in the current listing photos to give an accurate depiction of the space before booking. We price this home below comparable Ames rentals, and we are working to add amenities as we continue building it out. Fresh dishes will be addressed with our cleaning service. I'm sorry you were unable to find the salt/pepper/other basic seasonings in the kitchen. We have already ordered some extra mattress coverings to apply over top of the mattress protectors currently in place. We try to be transparent and are always happy to address concerns during the stay if needed, so please reach out next time. We are glad to hear the backyard and sectional were well-loved.
