About this property

Beachy Bungalow

Located in an eclectic neighborhood, walk 4-5 minutes to a secluded beach used only by those who live here. Swim with turtles, surf, collect coral & seashells, hike - all within minutes of this amazing house! The coastal surf town of Haleiwa is 10 minutes away - drive or bike - with restaurants, shopping, beaches & surf culture. We are an airline family - we travel a lot - and bring what we learn about our stays to make yours as comfortable as possible.his spacious and serene space.

Welcome to the Beach Bungalow! We’re glad you’re here.

To the beach:
When you walk out the door to the patio, look straight ahead and you will see a BEACH sign with an arrow pointing to the left. Follow the arrow to the left, once you hit the fence line take another left and follow the fence all the way down to the road. Please remember to close the gate after you come in or out as our excitable Bordoodle puppy named Lola might try to escape. Once on the road, take a right on Crozier Drive and it’s a 3-4 minute walk to the public beach access. The access will be on your left and is marked by yellow poles and a sign. Calm waters, good for snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, collecting shells etc and provides access to a few great surf spots. If you plan on surfing and are a beginner, we recommend taking a lesson first and then surfing at one of the beginner spots in Haleiwa (Chun’s or Alii). The laundry area attached to the guesthouse has beach gear for you to use.

*The guesthouse to your right is another occasional short-term rental/family guesthouse. We ask that you respect their privacy.

*Grocery store in Haleiwa: Malama Market will have everything you might need

Enjoyed our stay! Walking to the beach was great - it was really nice to be in a neighborhood. We noted that the tree covered walkway to the beach was very clean. People obviously take care of the surroundings. The house was a lovely one bedroom stand alone space that was thoughtfully landscaped - we were able to leave windows open and it still felt very private. It was clean and comfortable. We stay in a fair number of rentals and this was one I would recommend to friends!

Yes we loved our stay The host was fast in responding and home was perfect for a family of 3, lots of space and privacy. Loved the private outdoor shower after walking to the beach. Knoxon our 3 year old loved waking up every morning and afternoon to be greeted from our furry friend, Lola and the kitty. We definitely are going to come back and considering moving back

The cottage and the hosts were both superb. We had everything that we needed. The location was just as described...5 minute walk to the beautiful beach. We liked being further from town as the neighborhood was quiet and pretty. We hope to stay there again.

About the host

Hosted by Alana

Host profile image
I’m Alana, a lifelong Hawaiʻi resident and proud Kamehameha Schools graduate. I grew up here on Oʻahu and have deep roots in the local community and Hawaiian culture. When I’m not hosting, I love spending time with my kids, surfing, and being outdoors. I’m also a world traveler, and I bring what I’ve learned from my travels into hosting—creating a space that feels comfortable, thoughtful, and easy for guests. I love sharing local recommendations and helping visitors experience the North Shore in a way that feels genuine, respectful, and unforgettable.

Why they chose this property

The North Shore—especially the Haleʻiwa area—has always felt like home to me. This neighborhood is quiet, laid-back, and surrounded by nature, with easy access to the ocean, surf spots, and beautiful beaches, while still being close to town for food, shopping, and culture. It’s a true local beach community where families live, kids play outside, and life moves at a relaxed pace. I love that it offers the real North Shore experience without the crowds.

What makes this property unique

This guesthouse is unique because it offers rare privacy on a gated estate while still being walkable to the beach and close to world-famous North Shore surf spots. Set on approximately an acre of land, it feels peaceful and secluded, surrounded by tropical trees and open space. The home is thoughtfully equipped with everything guests need—including all beach gear—and designed with comfort, simplicity, and island living in mind. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, surf, explore, and truly feel at home on the North Shore.
