My family (grandparents, parents, and 4 kids ages 5-11) loved our stay at this mountain cabin. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The bedrooms were generously sized. The kids loved the game room, and exploring the woods behind the house. There is a nice little place to hike and climb rocks right behind the house. The linens looked brand new. The kitchen was well stocked with every cookware possible. It was very convenient to town. We could be at Sugar Mountain, the Alpine Coaster, or Crabtree Waterfall to hike in less than15 minutes. We all had a great time.
That being said, there are a few things to note. The house is an actual log cabin, so there is no insulation between the ceiling/floor of the 2 levels. When you are upstairs you can hear everything downstairs and vice versa. There are very nice ceiling fans and heaters available though to mask any noise. We had 8 people with us, and there is only seating in the living room for 5. It didn't bother us, as the kids watched TV in the game room, but if you are expecting family movie night for more than 5, plan on pulling in seating from another room. Lastly, the neighbors dog is at the property all the time. She is very sweet (...and I'm NOT a dog person...) and plays well with the kids. It was actually a bit comforting to have her go into the woods with the kids. She will be standing at the door ready to come in with you and not far from you the whole time you are outside. Again, she is very sweet and isn't brushing up against you or jumping on you, but if you have a dog that doesn't like others, just know that she WILL be around.
With all that being said, we had a lovely stay and would come here again in a heartbeat!
