About this property

Stillwater Waterfront Retreat - Rec Room - Kayaks - Elevator

Welcome to Stillwater, where life slows down just enough to remind you what matters most.

Some guests arrive with plans to explore every attraction nearby. More than once, they've ended up spending the afternoon on the deck instead, watching the water, grilling dinner, launching a kayak, or simply enjoying the quiet. I completely understand why.

When we created Stillwater, we rolled up our sleeves with one goal in mind: to build a place where families reconnect, friends laugh a little louder, and everyday distractions quietly fade into the background.

Inside, you'll find comfortable gathering spaces, a recreation room that keeps everyone entertained in every season, an elevator for added convenience, and a well-equipped kitchen that's just as ready for pancake breakfasts as it is for family dinners.

Step outside and the pace changes. Enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the waterfront, spend the afternoon exploring by kayak, fire up the grill, gather around the fire pit as the sun goes down, or simply sit back and let the peaceful setting do what it does best.

One of my favorite things about hosting is hearing guests say they planned a full day of sightseeing but decided the deck was exactly where they wanted to spend it instead.

Whether you're celebrating something special, reconnecting with family, or simply looking for a place to breathe, I hope Stillwater feels less like a vacation rental and more like a place that stays with you long after you've gone home.

From the beginning the host went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. The property is quiet country river living, complete with cows and chickens nearby, less than 10 minutes from the most wonderful 'Cash Saver' deli for amazing local home made and affordable dishes! The elevator saved us from lugging all of our stuff up the stairs. Even better, travel to downtown nashville is a beautiful 30 minute drive through the tennessee hills with no interstate, traffic or trucks anywhere to be seen. I would highly recommend this property with no hesitation.

One of the things I enjoy most about hosting is creating a place where people can truly slow down and enjoy being together. Life gets busy, and it's easy to forget how meaningful it is to sit on a deck with a cup of coffee, laugh around a fire pit, or spend an afternoon on the water with family and friends.

When we created Stillwater, we rolled up our sleeves and focused on making it comfortable, welcoming, and filled with the little touches that help guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

One of my favorite compliments is hearing that guests planned a full day of sightseeing but decided the deck was exactly where they wanted to spend it instead. Those are the moments that remind me why I love hosting.

My family and I live next door, tucked away in the woods where your privacy and ours are completely separate. We're close enough to help if you need anything, but our goal is for you to enjoy a peaceful, private getaway.

Whether you're celebrating something special, reconnecting with loved ones, or simply taking a break from everyday life, I hope you leave with wonderful memories—and maybe even start planning your next visit before you've gone home.

Why they chose this property

Stillwater is located on a quiet waterfront area connected to the Cumberland River, where the pace naturally slows down. One of the things I love most is how peaceful it feels. Mornings begin with calm water, birdsong, and coffee on the deck, while evenings are perfect for grilling dinner, gathering around the fire pit, or watching the sunset reflect across the water.

Even though it feels tucked away, you're still within easy driving distance of restaurants, shopping, marinas, and local attractions. Guests often tell me they appreciate having the best of both worlds—a relaxing retreat that's still convenient when they want to explore.

For me, the greatest part of this location isn't just the scenery—it's how it encourages people to put their phones down, spend time together, and enjoy the simple moments that are often the most memorable.

What makes this property unique

Stillwater was designed around the experience, not just the amenities. Of course you'll enjoy the waterfront, kayaks, recreation room, elevator, fire pit, and comfortable gathering spaces, but what really makes this home special is how naturally it brings people together.

The layout encourages connection, whether you're sharing breakfast before heading out on the water, challenging each other in the recreation room, grilling dinner on the deck, or ending the evening around the fire pit under the stars.

We intentionally created spaces where every generation can find something to enjoy. Kids have room to play, adults have room to relax, and everyone has opportunities to spend quality time together.

My hope is that when you leave, you won't just remember the house—you'll remember the conversations, the laughter, and the feeling of slowing down for a while. That's what Stillwater has always been about.
