About the host
Hosted by Brian Salamone
In 2025, River Rock Lodge began as a vision inspired by our family’s love for the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands. Countless vacations spent boating the American Narrows, watching sunsets from the dock, and gathering with family and friends led us to create a home that reflects what this special place means to us. We chose to share River Rock Lodge so others can experience the same sense of peace, connection, and timeless river living that continues to draw our family back. Our hope is that every guest leaves with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for life on the river.
Why they chose this property
Wellesley offers one of the most authentic Thousand Islands living experiences—a rare blend of natural beauty, history, and river culture that you can’t replicate elsewhere.
What truly sets Wellesley Island apart:
• Heart of the Thousand Islands
It sits in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, surrounded by iconic islands, shipping channels, and protected coves—making it a boater’s paradise and a front-row seat to river life.
• American Narrows & Big-River Energy
The island borders the American Narrows, where massive freighters, yachts, and sailboats pass through daily. The water is alive, constantly changing, and visually stunning.
• Unmatched Access with Privacy
You’re minutes from Alexandria Bay, Clayton, and Canadian waters, yet Wellesley Island feels peaceful, wooded, and uncrowded—especially compared to mainland waterfronts.
• Outdoor & Waterfront Lifestyle
Home to Wellesley Island State Park, miles of shoreline, fishing, kayaking, swimming, and hiking, the island is built around outdoor living and time on the water.
• Historic River Community
From classic summer cottages to multi-generation river families, Wellesley Island carries a deep sense of tradition, stewardship, and connection to the St. Lawrence.
In short, Wellesley Island isn’t just a location—it’s a way of life, where the river defines the rhythm of the day and every season brings a different kind of beauty.

What makes this property unique
River Rock Lodge is unique because it sits directly on the American Narrows, one of the most dynamic and scenic stretches of the Thousand Islands, offering a true on-the-river experience rather than a distant water view. Guests enjoy a private 150-foot dock with effortless boating access, front-row views of passing ships and islands, and constantly changing river scenery.
Unlike many rentals, the property blends a park-like waterfront setting with modern comforts—creating a place where you can fish, swim, dock your boat, or simply watch the river come alive from sunrise to sunset. Its location just over the Thousand Islands Bridge offers privacy without isolation, making River Rock Lodge both a peaceful retreat and an ideal base for exploring the region by water or land.
