About this property
Perfect 2-bedroom apartment with fireplace and mountain view in South Lake Tahoe
Cozy Fireplace | Tahoe Thunderbird Suite – A Peaceful Mountain Getaway
Welcome to Tahoe Thunderbird Suite, a calm and comfortable place to slow down and enjoy the beauty of South Lake Tahoe. This two-bedroom apartment sits in a quiet neighborhood with lovely mountain and forest views, perfectly located on the way to Heavenly and Kirkwood Ski Resorts.
The space has a classic Tahoe cabin feel, with real wood finishes, local art, and a wood-burning fireplace that makes evenings especially cozy after a day of adventure. Step out onto the wraparound deck, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and take in the scenery—it’s one of our favorite parts of the home.
The apartment is bright, open, and welcoming, with plenty of natural light and beautiful views throughout.
The living room features two comfortable sofas and a real wood-burning fireplace, perfect for relaxing with a book or unwinding in the evening.
There are two spacious bedrooms—one with a king bed and one with a queen bed—both designed for comfort and quiet nights.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook during your stay, including an espresso machine. We also provide locally roasted coffee and are happy to recommend local businesses if you’d like to support the Tahoe community.
And a local favorite: Tahoe tap water is safe to drink and considered some of the best-tasting tap water in the country, sourced from pristine mountain snowmelt—feel free to enjoy it straight from the tap.
The wraparound deck, accessible from both bedrooms and the dining area, is ideal for morning coffee, fresh air, and peaceful evenings outdoors.
Parking & Access
You’ll have private access to the entire upstairs apartment.
Dedicated parking directly in front of the home for up to two cars
Additional parking spaces are reserved for the downstairs unit
The home consists of two completely separate apartments. The downstairs unit is occupied by long-term tenants with their own private entrance.
Pets & Neighbor Awareness
The downstairs tenants have dogs, including a rescue German Shepherd who can be reactive, so occasional barking may be heard.
If you’d like to bring a pet, please contact us before booking to confirm approval.
When outside the apartment, pets must be on leash at all times to avoid interactions. For longer stays, dogs often adjust well once properly introduced.
Bear Country – Important Safety Note
Lake Tahoe is bear country, and bears are very active in residential areas.
For everyone’s safety, no food, trash, coolers, or scented items may be left outside at any time, including inside your car. Please always secure food and dispose of trash properly. This helps keep both guests and wildlife safe and protects our neighborhood.
Fireplace & Protecting Tahoe
We provide firewood for the wood-burning fireplace and kindly ask guests not to bring firewood from outside Tahoe basin, as it may introduce invasive species that are harmful to Tahoe’s ecosystem.
If you bring water equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, inflatables), Lake Tahoe requires all gear to be drained, cleaned, and fully dried before use to prevent algae spread.
To learn more, visit Tahoe Keepers website and help protect the lake we all love.
Year-Round Adventures
Lake Tahoe offers something special in every season.
Winter: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, fat biking, and winter hiking
Summer: hiking, mountain biking, golf, and water activities of all kinds
Tahoe Keys Marina, home to clear kayak tours and LED kayak tours, is only about 8 minutes away. We’re outdoor enthusiasts and are always happy to share local tips on trails, activities, and dining.
Winter Driving Conditions
During winter months, weather conditions can change quickly. 4WD/AWD or snow chains may be required to reach South Lake Tahoe and nearby ski resorts. Please plan ahead and check road conditions before traveling.
Good to Know:
Self check-in
Free parking
Ring doorbell security camera located at the exterior entrance only, for safety
