The cabin was very clean and stock when we arrived, Jim responded immediately to all my messages. Hot tub, kitchen and pool table was the best 7 adults, 3 kids, these items sure can in handy. Very peaceful, wind down place to stay
it was a great time and we all really enjoyed the entire experience being there was a blast kids had fun hot tubb was awsome definitely looking forward to our next visit
The cabin was really nice with a billiards table and corn hole and plenty of rooms for guests. No fire pit or outdoor area to have yard games was the only downside to the cabin for us. But overall a nice place to stay if you plan to go hiking or kayaking. It's in a good location that's not too far from the trails or the rivers.
Old wood, really old hot tub and no useable fire pit

The cabin is 20 years old made from solid logs. The hot tub is only a couple of years old, but the lid is battered from guest use, as is usual in a rental. We've wanted to relocate the fire pit, but there is no better spot for it considering the wooded area around it.
We stayed there to ride our Jeeps on the DBBB trails. It was a good location to make day trips and come back and hang out with friends. The host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.
The cabin was well located. I enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, and overall atmosphere. The driveway was steep but nothing my truck could not handle. Nothing fancy but neither am I.
The host Jim is very responsive for any questions or needs before and during your stay. The cabin was clean and had good sleeping space for our family of 6 adults and 5 children. The hot tub was a great amenity as it was too cold to do much outside otherwise. The kitchen was stocked with all that we needed for our Thanksgiving meal.
Great location to major hiking trails. Enjoyed porch time utilizing the hot tub and playing cornhole. Entry and exit of the drive way is a little tricky but manageable.
The cabin overall perfect for location to Red River Gorge activities. It was clean and well kept, shows some age but to be expected. No, issues with check in or out. Everything was clean and in working order. The only issue as would be expected was the WiFi system doesn't support a lot of connections. Of course, the idea is to be out and enjoying activities. Unfortunately, the weekend we were their (Memorial Day), it rained nearly every day with limited breaks. Not something that can be controlled.Overall, it was a great weekend, and we would definitely rent the cabin again. The host was quick to respond to questions and very easy to work with.
Perfect location close to everything in the red river Gorge. The owner is delightful, and the cabin was very clean and comfortable. Fair warning, the driveway is a bit of a challenge, but I got pretty good at backing down it after some practice. Great place for family to stay, plenty of room for everybody.
Perfect for our group! It was great to all be together in one house, but we all also could have our own space! We loved the property and hope to visit again one day!
We had a group ranging in age from 1 year old to 69 years old. Great amenities. Awesome location. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!
Property was clean and fun...pool table and hot tub.

About the host
Hosted by Jim & Reta Taylor
I met my wife in 1966 in the area. She worked as a waitress at a local restaurant, and I ran a truck route through Slade, KY. I've always loved the area, and that's a part of the reason I built Cedar Palace.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because of its location nearly right in the Gorge. It's such a beautiful place. Not to mention all of the fond memories of our younger days.
What makes this property unique
After having finished the cabin, we realized this was a most wonderful spot to relax, and be in good company. It's so cozy during the winter, and refreshing during the summer.
