The Cabin Retreat offers you the opportunity to settle in, relax and delight in the beauty and comfort that this cozy home-away-from-home provides. Located on over 17 acres, the cedar and pine cabin is more than 1700 s.f. and consists of a master bedroom, guest bedroom, loft bedroom and living/dining/kitchen area. There are also two bathrooms featuring shower and bath/shower.

The Cabin Retreat is great for small groups and family gatherings with an additional cottage space available on the property that can sleep 6 to 8+ people. The Cabin Retreat can sleep 8 to 10 people with full kitchen and two baths.

On those cooler nights, a wood-burning fireplace is available in The Cabin Retreat... and everything is ready for you to cozy up to a warm and inviting fire.

The Cabin Retreat sits atop a small hill that overlooks the gently-rolling landscape with beautiful trees, foliage and a hewn-stone fountain. A short walk along wooded trails leads you to Lost Creek which runs along a portion of the property. Take time for a leisurely stroll to the creek through the wooded trail and enjoy the quiet natural surroundings of this beautiful place.

All of this natural beauty and quiet forest is yours to enjoy while you are only minutes away from all of the events and attractions that Hot Springs provides.

We had a great stay at the cabin. We enjoyed utilizing the fireplace and there was plenty cooking equipment for all our meals. The two bedrooms downstairs and the three beds upstairs in the loft area worked great for our group. Thank you for the clean and well equipped cabin!

Great Getaway!

The cabin is just far enough away from the city and traffic but still conveniently close to all the attractions. The trails around the property are nice for an early morning or late evening stroll. The cabin is stocked with everything needed so you don't have to go shopping as soon as you get there!

Perfect Getaway

Best hosts ever! We have never had a poor VRBO experience and still this one stood out as being above and beyond. Thank you for exactly what we needed and didn't even realize. The cabin had anything you could want and is within a short distance of multiple beautiful hiking spots. Excellent trip!

Perfect cabin retreat

This is by far the best VRBO I have ever stayed in!! From the Nora Jones CD playing upon our arrival to the bottle of wine and cheese in the fridge, this couple knows how to make your stay enjoyable. They have thought of everything for everyone!! Fruit bowl, sugar free and organic condiments, the best soaps, fans, games, movies and books galore! We stayed here for a Mom and daughters girl trip and could have just stayed in the cabin the entire time and would've been perfectly happy. It is very secluded and out of the city but it is only 15-20 minutes to Oaklawn and all of the great restaurants Hot Springs has to offer. We also enjoyed watching the deer every morning in the front yard! If you're looking for a wonderful family or couples retreat stay here!!! You wont regret it!!

Limited cell phone service

The cabin was nice and well stocked. The only issue we had and not the owners fault. Unless you have Verizon cell service beware. We had att and t mobile and we had no service. The cabin does not have WiFi or a land line or cable. It was difficult to plan your day or keep in touch with family. We used our car GPS for the first time. The only place we got good cell service was in the downtown hot springs area.

Very nice cottage

It's a lovely cottage in a very nice location: 20 minutes to downtown Hot Springs and about 30 minutes from some great hiking trails in Ouachita National Forest. Just about any supply you'd need for basic cooking was in the kitchen as well as a basket of fresh fruit on the island. If you have the bad luck of rain or poor weather, the owners have board games and an extensive library of DVDs or VHS tapes. The player attached to the TV plays both VHS tapes and DVDs. So if you have favorite movies that you've never obtained on DVD, you can bring the tape. Evan dropped by while I as there to check in and make sure everything was satisfactory. He was also very communicative and helpful with information on the area in his emails to me about the property. When I arrived I found more information about the area already assembled in binders in the kitchen. All in all, Evan and Jen provided an A+ experience.

A Serene Stay

We rented this cabin for a quick trip to Hot Springs for a wedding. It exceeded all our expectations! After the craziness of trying to get out of town and the kids crying/fighting most of the way there- I actually felt loved by the host’s special treats, burning candles, and music upon arrival. Only to find that the pantry, kitchen, and laundry were fully stocked for our stay. No other rental has ever gone so far above & beyond to make our stay so relaxing and carefree. It felt like coming home to Grandma’s house for the weekend. These people are in the right line of business! The only issue we had was that the downstairs shower was not functioning, which put us down to one tiny bathroom in the loft. We were so busy with wedding events that I didn’t even have time to report the issue though so really it can’t be counted against anyone. Also if you have small kids with you up in the loft and you sleep in the master bedroom directly below, be warned there’s nothing but boards between you. Sleep will not be easy. I would absolutely stay here again- but without kids and I would make sure the bathrooms are working prior to arrival. Still highly recommend.

This was our third stay at the cabin, and each visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The setting is serene and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and family connection. Our children were completely enchanted, Our kids had the best time, and it’s always such a joy to see how much they enjoy being here.The host is exceptional—gracious, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring every detail is just right. It’s rare to find a place that feels both like an escape and a homecoming, but this cabin offers exactly that. We cannot wait to return again.

The cabin was wonderful and suited our family well. The kids loved having their own "space" in the loft and all of the toys and the basketball court for play. The kitchen was the best stocked, I've ever encountered on a VRBO rental and the wine/cheese/fruit was a nice touch. The kids were very pleased with the ice cream in the freezer too!! Everything we did was no more than a 30 minute drive away; the location is very convenient to Hot Springs and both Lake Catherine and Lake Ouachita. We had a great time!!

Home was very comfortable, beds were great. House was a little further out than we expected. Any and every item you may need was provided, dishes, pots, pans, glasses, condiments. Host even had a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge waiting for us. Would highly recommend. Host answered all questions and was pleasant to work with.

Girls Weekend

Relaxed and blessed! No worries about food (much of it provided by the owner) No worries about places to be or deadlines to make! Best Massages ever right across the lawn. We will definitely be back at this place. Peaceful and quiet! Loved our stay!

Our family relocated to Hot Springs from New Orleans following Katrina. We chose to live in this area because of its access to beautiful forests, mountain trails, pristine lakes and natural history.

Why they chose this property

Because we love the outdoors, we were fortunate to find this special 18-acre property which is surrounded by very private forests, yet only 20 minutes from downtown Hot Springs, 15 minutes from Oaklawn Race Track and close to beautiful lakes, horseback riding and canoeing.

What makes this property unique

The Cabin Retreat wraps you in a sense of serenity, tranquility and gives you the freedom to enjoy a natural setting of beauty. The cabin is spacious for that quiet, get-away-holiday and for hosting special events such as anniversaries and private dinners.

And while The Cabin Retreat provides you with a connection to nature's beauty and a feeling of being 'away from it all', it is only 20 minutes from canoeing and the many restaurants/attractions of Hot Springs.
