Very nice house with large bedrooms, well-stocked kitchen and an overall comfortable feel. View out onto the lake is nice and it's great you have your own dock. Great location to go either east over to Traverse City or west over to Lake Michigan. Also close to M-22 and dune areas.
Rae’s Retreat is a treasure. Perfect location for those one team to be able to swim in Lake Michigan visit Frankfurt to visit Leland and sleeping bear dunes. Little Platte lake is so peaceful. The cabin was also wonderful very clean and had all the supplies we needed.
Our stay was wonderful. Only major issue was difficult finding it. No address on listing and hard to find once got there. Otherwise it was good place. Will use this place again. Worked for our family and friends fishing trip
Wonderful stay, place was very nice, clean and modern. Liked there was plenty of soap dispensers and soft fluffy towels. I would recommend this place to stay.
This place was great. The view of the lake from the private dock was beautiful. I recommend if you are looking to be in the Crystal Lake/Sleeping Bear Dunes area you stay here. Communication was great with the host.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The area is incredible as to getting to all the small towns, beaches, fishing and kayaking spots.
The cabin was perfect for us. The side lot provided a great firepit space, the bathrooms were great, the kitchen was stocked w necessary items and she has a first aid kit we needed on day one. Oh and the view of the lake from the front windows is breathtakingly beautiful.
Rae’s Retreat had everything we needed for our “Up North” vacation - a clean, well appointed cabin, a great kitchen to make meals out of, convenient access to the lake a few steps out the front door, a dock to fish from and use our SUP. The location is also ideal for traveling to other nearby beaches and sites. We would certainly stay again! The Host was also very easy to get in touch with for our check out questions.
Our 2nd stay here. Listing is exactly as pictured and it provides all the beauty of nature at your fingertips with just enough creature comforts to relax after a fun filled day. The location is perfect for our favorite activities in the area: climbing the dunes, floating down the Platte river, discovering new area beaches, and breweries/restaurants are not far in Beulah/Honor/Frankfort! Fishing off of the dock was a family favorite this trip! The host was communicative and proactive in resolving a minor issue she became aware of even before we arrived which was appreciated. Thanks for a great stay, we'll be back!
My whole family loved this cabin. Our favorite part about it was how close it was to all the places we love. Five minutes to Platte Beach. Five minutes to Cherry bowl. 20 minutes to Frankfort. 40 minutes to Front Street in Traverse City. There’s also an ice cream shop a five minute walk away. Little Platte Lake isn’t the best swimming lake, but it’s great for paddling around on if you have kayaks which we did numerous times. Check in was a breeze. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The living room couch was very comfortable for movie nights, and there were lots of fans to help with the heat when it was warm. All the neighbors were super friendly. We will definitely consider staying at this cabin again!

Great Host
Cottage was located in the back of a densely populated RV park - your view from most bedrooms was an RV within 20 yards. The lake had recently been treated for weeds so it was not swimmable at all and we had a problem with gnats/fruit flies in most of the rooms. The host was very attentive to our concerns and refunded as a nights' stay for our inconvenience. The place itself is nice with the exception of the windows; many would not lock and were so foggy you couldn't see out of them. The host informed us new windows were being installed in September, so that will be nice for future renters.
