Solar lighting didn’t work and was very dim since it was not charged. The hot tub would have clicked for us if they have regular lights and switches. It would have been much more beautiful and memorable experience :)))

Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to stay with us! Our pathway lighting is solar powered, so after cloudy or rainy days they may not be as bright as they are after a full day of sunshine. While we can't control the weather, we do like the soft, eco-friendly lighting they provide when fully charged. We saw your late night message about the hot tub the following morning. The hot tub is equipped with standard controls, including a dedicated light button. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. We hope you otherwise enjoyed your visit and appreciate you choosing to stay with us.

Hi! We’re a family-run hosting team based in Northern Kentucky, and we spend a lot of time exploring Red River Gorge ourselves. Our business started with our own properties and has grown through word of mouth, trust, and plenty of hands-on care.

We love the outdoors and enjoy supporting the small businesses and local spots that make this area so special — many of which we share in this guide. Hosting gives us the opportunity to connect guests with places we genuinely love while helping families, couples, and friends make meaningful memories together (pets included!).

We’re always just a message away if you need anything during your stay.

Why they chose this property

Cliffview Resort is a peaceful, wooded community tucked into the natural beauty of Red River Gorge. Surrounded by trees, ridgelines, and fresh mountain air, it’s the kind of place where mornings start with birdsong and evenings end under a sky full of stars.

One of our favorite things about the area is how close you are to adventure while still having a quiet place to retreat to. You’re just minutes from zip line tours, off-roading, hiking trails, and some of the Gorge’s most scenic spots. After a day out exploring, it’s hard to beat coming back to relax on the deck and soak in the calm.

It’s the perfect balance of nature, adventure, and peaceful cabin living.

What makes this property unique

Shooting Star stands out for combining comfort, convenience, and adventure in one easy getaway. Guests love relaxing in the private hot tub after a day exploring Red River Gorge, whether hiking, zip lining, or off-roading nearby. Unlike many local cabins, this one is easy to get to with paved roads and no 4WD required, so your trip starts feeling like a vacation right away. We’re also pet friendly, so your four-legged family members can come along too. Close to the action yet peaceful enough to truly unwind, it’s the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.
