The house showcases the hallmarks of desert modernism with an open floor plan, soaring vaulted ceilings beneath the iconic “butterfly” roofline, exposed tongue-and-groove beams, and dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass walls that flood the interiors with natural light. Every space has been thoughtfully updated to highlight these striking features while adding modern comforts.

Stylish Indoor Living
The open-concept kitchen is a chef’s delight, equipped with stainless steel appliances, a gas cooktop, Keurig, traditional and Nespresso coffee brewers, and all the essentials for cooking and entertaining. The living and dining areas offer direct mountain and garden views, with seamless indoor-outdoor flow through expansive glass walls.

The house itself was immaculately clean and full of amenities like pool floats, coffee grounds and pods and some snacks and bottled water to enjoy on our travel day. We all slept great on very clean and comfortable beds in peaceful bedrooms. The backyard felt like our own private oasis. We loved all the recommendations for activities and restaurants provided by Michael and Scott. The location was great for us with a short drive to downtown Palm Springs and the airport. From the day we booked Michael was in communication and made all aspects easy! From driving directions to house access to detailed written instructions for all appliances, everything was right at our finger tips-including treats and a toy for the dog. The house is super cute and so clean, stocked with items we needed and unbelievably organized. Outdoor area was fantastic and also clean and organized. Wonderful property and visit. House was immaculate as was the pool and cabana. Close to just about everything from a location perspective. Great household amenities and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking/serving. Super comfy beds and linens. Loved having coffee in the morning on the west side of the pool next to the citrus trees. Hosts were incredible with home-use instructions and communication throughout our stay. We'll be back!

In 2008 a group of close friends from Seattle rented this delightful mid-century modern home for a winter escape from the rain and cold. We all fell instantly in love with the magical desert 'zen' that this home provided. Despite all the nearby attractions and activities, we found ourselves spending the majority of our four lazy days lounging by (and in!) the private pool, soaking up the sun, and grilling lunch and dinner poolside. At night we all enjoyed the wonderful sensation of slowly immersing ourselves into the jetted hot tub and gazing upwards at the stars. Three years later we discovered that this home was for sale. We didn't hesitate a second to purchase this vacation home for ourselves, families, and friends. As our guests, we trust you will have an equally memorable stay at our 'home away from home!'

As mid-century modern enthusiasts, we jumped at the opportunity to purchase this iconic “Butterfly” Alexander-built mid-century modern house. We’re thrilled to share it with our guests. We spent over 8 months fully renovating this amazing house and property to its original splendor. With the exception of the frame and exterior stucco siding, the house is essentially all new.

What makes this property unique

This home is a highly sought-after authentic Alexander-built 'butterfly' roofline house. The main living areas and private western-facing back yard boast breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountain range. Just a short walk away is the steps away is the beautifully landscaped Victoria Park with a grass lawn and children playground.
