Ask a questionAbout Francis & Andrea Ringenbach
About us: Seduced about twenty years ago by this beautiful region and its warm and welcoming inhabitants, we settled here to live fully and respect the conservation of the heritage and environment. Once we were established, we wanted to share this happiness by building 4 cottages and two swimming pools. In the first place this project was to look like a place where we ourselves would like to spend holidays. So nothing was done without careful thought. The whole project had to correspond to very specific criteria. Each house had to make the most of the spectacular view, while also having a pleasant and private setting. The exterior and interior design of each house has been thought through and optimized down to the smallest detail to make guests feel completely at home. We should add that we are obsessed with the little details, with all the little extras that make Coustaliers not just rentals, but a particularly pleasurable and welcoming home from home. One striking feature of our houses is the wood used in their construction. The entirety of the roofs' timber, ceilings and exposed beams come from the trees surrounding us which had to be cut down to allow for building work. Some of these in fact , came from the actual sites, thus in some ways leaving the trees where they belonged !! Numerous trees and shrubs have been carefully planted to recreate a natural habitat, to decorate the spaces around the houses and replace those cut back during construction.
Why Francis & Andrea Ringenbach chose Pays-de-Belves
Your holidays in peaceful tranquility, in a region full of charm and surprise, in the heart of Périgord Noir An invitation to relax, rewind and rejuvenate A romantic stopover or family holiday in unspoiled nature. Located just 6 km from Belvès, the principal town of its district, with plenty of shops and amenities, our cottages are secluded on the top of a hill, facing south, with each house enjoying an exceptional view of the valley and the surrounding countryside. A multitude of trees and ornamental plants preserve the privacy of each home, which all have their own parking and private access. Two heated swimming pools of 8.50 m by 4.00 m are shared between the lodgings, allowing visitors to take full advantage of the generous sunshine. A powerful Wifi network (free) allows good reception in the houses, the garden, and around the pools. The cottages Coustalier, often called paradise by our guests, are located away from any traffic, pollution or industry. Immersed in nature we breathe clean air, listen to birds, bees, the cicadas and to complete this picture, can be captivated by the flight of butterflies. We can guarantee that this still exists !! Reserve now for the ideal formula for forgetting stress and noise. Our cottages are ideally located, within easy reach of the major sites of the Dordogne valley, the castle of Beynac which towers 150 m above the Dordogne, Castelnaud and its museum of ancient weapons, Marqueyssac and its hanging garden, Milande (the home of Josephine Baker), of the Dordogne and Vézere rivers, of the medieval village of Limeuil at the confluence of these two streams, and many, many more unforgettable sights.
What makes this house unique
You can visit the many caves and prehistoric sites, as well as the facsimile of Lascaux 4, a perfect reproduction of the world-famous Grotte de Lascaux. A multitude of possibilities are available to you, canoeing and picnicking on the many sandy and pebble beaches of the Dordogne and Vézère, discovering the flora and fauna of the rivers on tours on an authentic reproduction of gabarre, the traditional river boat of the 18th century, following ancient trails through the countryside and forests, one of which passes the near our site. The Périgord Noir is situated in the department of Dordogne and the region of New Aquitaine, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean and to the south by the Pyrenees. The predominantly rural Périgord Noir is renowned for its romantic valleys of the Dordogne and Vézère and is ranked among the most beautiful regions of France. The character and charm of the villages, its cultural, historical and archaeological heritage, make it a place of extraordinary richness.
