About this property
Tranquil 3-bedroom house in charming Kalispell
Built in 1936, our East side charmer is nestled among tree-lined streets walkable to downtown shops and restaurants. Three bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths can comfortably sleep six. A futon is available to sleep an additional person. Enjoy a private fenced backyard with outdoor dining on the patio and café lights for the summer evenings. Located 45 minutes to the entrance of Glacier National Park, equidistant to Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail ski hills, and cross country ski trails.
Why we love this house:
Located walking distance from downtown Kalispell, and centrally within the Flathead Valley, you are within reach of any activity you desire. 25 minutes to Whitefish, 35 minutes to Whitefish Mountain Resort, 10 minutes to Flathead Lake, and 45 minutes to the Crown Jewel of the Continent Glacier National Park. We enjoy many outdoor activities in the area from Glacier, to the Jewel Basin, to downhill and cross country skiing, and we are happy to provide helpful tips to make your stay memorable and a place you want to return again and again.
Our home is more than just a place to sleep — it invites you to live in it as we had for years. You’ll feel the comfort of home but with the glow of a special getaway. Located in a friendly tree-lined neighborhood with plenty of sidewalks, you’re close enough to explore the local shops and restaurants, yet tucked away enough to truly unwind.
Whether you’re in town for recreating, visiting friends, or simply getting away for a little peace in the mountains, our 1930s home offers the perfect blend of warmth, comfort, and ease.
The Kitchen & Dining Area:
Upon entering our home, you’ll be greeted with the warm original wood floors that speak to the care the home has received over the last nearly nine decades. Just off the living space, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen where cooking can feel like a joy instead of a chore. Spacious countertops, bright cabinetry, and all the tools you need for a simple breakfast or a leisurely dinner. The adjoining dining area features a banquette and dining table which invites conversation — perhaps over a bottle of wine, fresh local produce, or a take-out meal enjoyed in your own tranquil space.
The Living Room:
Spacious yet intimate, this light-filled living room invites you to sink into the plush sofa, flip on a favorite movie, or simply gaze out the window to our private backyard. The western facing windows allow for beautiful sunsets to fill the room with color. A warm glow from incandescent-style lighting makes evenings especially inviting — perfect for winding down with a good book or enjoying some quiet company or streaming your favorite show on the TV.
The Bedrooms:
When it’s time to turn in, the bedrooms are your relaxing sanctuary to recharge for the next day. A comfortable king-sized bed in the primary bedroom with crisp linens and fluffy pillows beckons you to relax deeply thanks to blackout shades. Soft lighting, subtle décor, and a calm palette help set the tone for restful sleep in each bedroom. The adjacent bedroom upstairs has a queen-sized bed. The downstairs bedroom also features a queen-sized bed and plenty of closet space. Each bedroom has storage space that ensures you can spread out and settle in like you would at home.
The Bathrooms:
Bright and thoughtfully designed, the bathroom upstairs offers both style and function. You’ll find clean surfaces, a tiled shower with bathtub if you need to soak, quality towels, and a layout that lets you start your day in an easy, peaceful way. The basement has a 3/4 bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink.
Outdoor / Additional Features:
Whether you’re sipping morning coffee or winding down after an adventure, the outdoor space is a quiet bonus — a covered patio with café lights, privacy-fence yard views featuring native-to-Montana flowers, trees, and shrubs. Free on street parking allows for convenience when loading or unloading or loading the car for the adventure of the day. Fast WiFi means productivity or streaming is no problem at all.
The house is nearly 90 years old which means it has a narrow staircase to the basement. The living room and backdoor are accessible via a few steps which are not a problem for most people but may present difficulty for those with differing mobility levels or young children. We do offer a baby gate to block off the staircase to the basement.
