VRBO gave this property a spot on their first ever Top Ten Canadian Vacation homes list in 2022. This is truly a unique thoughtful home. Furnishings and original art create a home that is clearly loved. It has been described as a late 60's early 70's, Scandinavian ski home. There are two master bedrooms upstairs with king sized beds. A bunk room downstairs that sleeps six, and an additional three beds in the TV room.
The mudroom is equipped with built in boot and glove dryers for twelve.
The kitchen is a chef's paradise. Stocked with nearly all imaginable tools and small appliances for even the most experienced chefs , including an outdoor wood burning pizza oven.
The home is wired for sound.
The garage has been turned into the 'Tournament Ping Pong' ,fitness room available to use at your own risk.
There is a eight person hot tub outside as well as an electric sauna.
Living areas are perfect for large groups as well as intimate small gatherings.

Remove all trash and take to refuse house intersection at bottom of street . Code 1616 . No garbage to be left outside . All recycle must be taken to bins in upper parking lot Fri-Sun.

We are a family of 5 from Edmonton, Alberta. We initially were introduced to the hill 21 yrs ago when we purchased a unit in Whispering Pines. We weren't skiers but loved the idea of doing an activity together as a family. As you can imagine our boys went from skiing in between our knees to leaving us behind rapidly.

Why they chose this property

We loved our townhouse in Whispering Pines but would often walk around the different strata's and even look at homes for sale wishing for a bit more space so we could host family and friends. We were never satisfied with the inventory , feeling some spaces were needlessly large and overbuilt for weekend getaways. We enlisted a close friend to design and build Owls Nest and have been more attached to KH than ever.

What makes this property unique

The attention to detail in this home makes it hard to leave. Every room is cozy and comfortable and beautifully designed and furnished. We have had three families in this home at once with every bed filled and never did we fill crowded. The kitchen is perfect for family buffet style eating, and the two dishwashers and space helps make clean up easy. There are many areas to hang out in; you can always find the peace or the "party" you are looking for.
Ski in literally to back door.
We love sitting in the pumpkin chairs with morning coffee and gazing down the valley.
Coming up the stairs to the heart of the home always brings warmth and joy to us all.
