Chapman Cottage ~Lakefront Dock, Kayak-Boat, Games

Just 17 minutes off I85, our gorgeous 6 bedroom cottage offers everything a family or group could want in a lakefront getaway. You'll be on a wide but uncongested part of the lake. Bring your own boat year round, the free public boat ramp only 5 minutes away. From our dock you'll enjoy the provided kayak, paddle board, canoe, or a swim at the dock in the calm waters of the quiet cove. We look forward to hosting you at our place.

Important things to know:

-The driveway is very steep. If there is a threat of snow/ice, accessibility may be limited.

-There is a set of stairs from the parking area down to the main entrance.

-The path to the dock is sloped, but is relatively short and winds gradually down to the water. Guests with mobility limitations should consider whether it will be comfortable for them.

-The parking area can fit a maximum of 4 cars before you have to park on the steep sloped driveway, or on the pad at the top of the driveway.

-Boat trailer parking is available on the property.

-The boat shown in some photos is not available for guest use or charter.

-Although some are provided, guests are responsible for providing properly sized life jackets for everyone, especially for infants and young children.

-Lake levels and shoreline conditions can vary throughout the year due to weather and lake management practices. The private dock has deep water year-round, even during periods when lake levels are lower than normal. Check with me before you book if you're concerned about water level.

Any wood fires are completely extinguished and grill propane tanks closed.
Any loose items on the dock should be returned to their origin and tied down, they tend to blow away! Umbrellas closed.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Unbelievably lovely and beautiful house with everything you could want. So many nice touches in the house from coffee and espresso machines to storage and ice makers and towels and space for enjoying the lake. Comfortable, clean, lots of great spaces to hang, play games, and see the views. Everything was labeled and easy to get to. Our family and friends had a great lake week. We rented a boat from Harbor Light marina which was about 30 min boat ride back to the house where it was easy to dock. Kids loved all the toys and basement space. Can’t wait to come again!

We had the absolute pleasure of being the very first guests at this beautiful vacation home over the Fourth of July weekend, and it exceeded every expectation! We had a large group of family spanning multiple generations, and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out while still enjoying time together. The spacious common areas made family meals, game nights, and relaxing together so easy without ever feeling crowded.The short walk down to the dock was one of our favorite features. We spent our days on the water, and having convenient access made everything so much more enjoyable. There are also great local options for boat and jet ski rentals nearby, which made planning our lake days effortless.The house was stocked with games that kept the kids entertained during downtime, which was such a thoughtful touch. Even with the holiday weekend, the neighborhood was calm, peaceful, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a fun-filled day.If you’re looking for a place that comfortably accommodates a big family, offers easy lake access, and provides a peaceful retreat, this is it. We feel lucky to have been the first guests and can’t recommend this home highly enough. We would absolutely stay here again!

As Georgia natives, we've always loved spending time on the water and dreamed of having a lake home of our own. We enjoy wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and taking family and friends out on the lake to experience everything Lake Hartwell has to offer. Bringing people together has always been one of our favorite parts of lake life, whether it's a day on the water, a meal shared on the deck, or simply relaxing and enjoying each other's company. We chose this property for its peaceful cove, easy lake access, and abundance of spaces to gather both indoors and outdoors. We're excited to share it with guests and hope you'll make great memories here, just as we have.
