Welcome to The Carrier’s Cottage, a 1933 English Tudor Revival home built for a local postman and his bride. Located a few blocks from Wing Park in a historic neighborhood, The Carrier’s Cottage has been lovingly cared for, renovated, and furnished to be a comfortable retreat.

Cozy up by the gas burning fireplace, go for a walk through the historic neighborhood, relax on the patio with a latte from the Nespresso Vertuo Next machine, or use the cottage as your home base to enjoy all Chicagoland/Fox River Valley suburbs have to offer. Three bedrooms (four beds), two full bathrooms, and a full kitchen with all the essentials make the cottage perfect for a wedding party, romantic getaway, traveling family, college reunion, or business trip. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with a twin daybed in the “master nook.” The two first floor bedrooms each have a queen sized bed and every bedroom has a smart TV, ceiling fan, closet, and dresser.


The house is one mile from a Metra Train Station, 30 miles from O’Hare Airport, and has easy access to the highway. Less than a mile from the Fox River Bike Trail, downtown Elgin, Wing Park (community pool, golf course, tennis, basketball, and sand volleyball courts), local restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Close and convenient to The Haight, The Brix on the Fox, The Q Center, Hemmens Cultural Center, Judson University, the NOW Arena, and local festivals.

Amenities include driveway and street parking, free high-speed Wi-Fi, washer-dryer, and a workspace. There are 3 window AC units (installed in May) along with ceiling fans in every bedroom and living space so guests can adjust the temperature easily to their liking. We are family friendly and can provide a high chair, pack n’ play and kids’ plates/cups. We know how hard (and fun) traveling with little kids can be. If you think you might need something, just ask.

Kitchen: Most of the time I travel, I reach a point where I get tired of eating out and miss the taste and comfort of a home-cooked meal.
We have you covered, with a fully equipped kitchen with everything that you need to make your trip taste like home: oven, microwave, fridge, Nespresso Virtuo coffee maker with an automatic milk steamer, electric kettle, standard drip coffee maker, and all the silverware, pots, pans, and plates you might need.
