About this property

The Singing Salmon of Bonaventure - A wild escape

Summary:

Ready for an extraordinary experience? Welcome to the Singing Salmon, a self-sufficient cottage nestled on the banks of the legendary Bonaventure River. Here, wilderness sets the tone, comfort follows suit, and the gentle murmur of the river accompanies your stay. Whether you're an avid fisherman or a lover of tranquility, you've come to the right place to unwind... for real.

The Space:

The Singing Salmon is not just a cottage: it's a return to basics, designed for small, resourceful groups who want an authentic experience, far from noise, screens... and cell phone reception. Here, you can reconnect with what matters most, to the sound of water and the simplicity of life.

🎣 Amateur fisherman or salmon maestro?

The Bonaventure River is world-renowned for its crystal-clear waters and majestic salmon. Whether you come to tease the fish or simply admire these finned stars, the experience is unique. After a day in the great outdoors, warm up by the wood stove... and greet the salmon already caught, proudly displayed on the wall, ready to begin its serenade. 🐟🎶

🌿 A self-sufficient cottage, in complete transparency

The Singing Salmon is entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy (solar, generator, and propane).

👉 Important to know: the cottage does not have air conditioning, and its power supply system does not allow for the use of conventional air conditioning.

Fans are provided to promote air circulation during warmer periods. We prefer to be clear about this now so that you can plan your stay with full knowledge of the facts.

👉 In order to maintain the balance of the system, the use of high-energy consumption appliances can exhaust the cottage's energy capacity and cause the generator to start automatically, day or night (possible noise). In short: the Singing Salmon prefers windblown hair to energy-intensive appliances 😄 We therefore suggest you leave hair dryers, flat irons, and other energy-intensive appliances at home.

🛏️ A rustic and cozy cocoon

The cottage can accommodate up to 11 guests in three bedrooms:

- Two bedrooms upstairs, accessible by an interior ladder staircase (for the more adventurous 😉) or by a standard exterior staircase

- One bedroom on the ground floor with a queen-size bed

You'll find a large, convivial dining table, a well-equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer—perfect for extended stays.

🔥 Simple, authentic, and memorable evenings

Gather around the outdoor fireplace, leave your screens behind, and enjoy evenings under the stars. Here, there are no notifications... just the crackling of the fire, the sound of the river, and quality moments shared as a group.

Starlink Wi-Fi is available for those who wish to stay connected... even though the environment strongly encourages you to unplug.

📍 A remote location... plan ahead

The cottage is located at the mouth of the Bonaventure and Duval rivers, in an exceptional natural setting.

⚠️ Please note: the village of Bonaventure, where you will find shops and services (grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, gas station, etc.), is located about 25 minutes from the cottage. It is therefore essential to plan your supplies before your arrival, as there are no services available within walking distance.

🧭 For resourceful minds

The Singing Salmon is for independent and curious travelers who are comfortable with an off-grid environment. A detailed guide and explanatory videos will be provided before arrival to ensure that everything runs smoothly once you are there.

🚨 Damage Protection – Peace of Mind Included 🚨

To offer you a seamless experience, accidental damage protection is included through a fixed nightly amount.

It replaces the traditional security deposit and covers eligible accidental damages up to USD $50,000 for qualifying stays.* Very few properties offer this level of protection.

The result:

✔️ No security deposit required

✔️ A simple and structured process in case of an incident

✔️ A smooth, elegant, and worry-free experience

Because true luxury also means peace of mind. 😇

Although the protection generally replaces the security deposit, we reserve the right to require an additional deposit in specific situations evaluated on a case-by-case basis. This measure remains rare and preventive.

*Certain conditions and exclusions apply. Details available upon request.
