This was our first vacation since my dad passed away a month ago—he was supposed to be there with us, so this trip meant more than just getting away. Despite a few bumps, it turned into something really special for our family.To be honest, the front desk reception we encountered at check-in wasn’t the warmest, and the unit itself showed some wear and could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Those things stood out at first. But they didn’t end up defining our experience.What did stand out was everything else. The rest of the staff we interacted with were genuinely kind and welcoming, and the location couldn’t have been better—right on the beach, which made it easy to just settle into a slower pace. The owner of Unit 502 West has clearly put thought into making it feel like a home away from home. The amenities, the setup, the little touches—it all gave the impression that they truly care about their guests having a great stay.We spent our days grilling, tossing the football around, and just enjoying being together. The kids lived in the pool and had an absolute blast. And the beach… daily and nightly walks became something we’ll always remember.In the end, this trip gave us exactly what we needed—time together, space to breathe, and moments we’ll look back on fondly for a long time. It wasn’t perfect, but it was meaningful, and that mattered more.
