NEVER GOT INTO THE PLACE LOCK MALFUNCTIONING. HOST NEVER RESPONDED TO OUR EMAILS TO BOTH OF HIS ADDRESSES. BUT WOULD NOT HAVE STAYED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A HOUSE BUT AN APARTMENT AND IN THE SAME HOUSE THESE WERE FIVE LOCKS ON FIVE BEDROOMS WITH FIVE PEOPLE THAT SHARED A KITCHEN. TRASH AROUND THE AREA DID NOT FEEL SAFE. FINALLY DAY TWO HE TEXTED ME TO ASK HOW MY STAY WAS GOING SO I TOLD HIM AT LENGTH ABOUT THE ORDEAL AND HE NEVER RESPONDED. I HAVE USED VRBO MANY TIMES NEVER A PROBLEM. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE!

Thank you, Robert, for the feedback. We’re sorry the experience didn’t go smoothly. To provide future guests with an accurate picture: your reservation began March 14th, but you arrived March 15th. Prior to arrival, I sent multiple messages through VRBO, email, and text with check-in instructions — none of which received a response. Those communications are documented on the platform. The check-in instructions clearly direct guests to a private studio unit located at the back of the building, with its own separate entrance and backyard. Based on the concerns described — shared kitchen, multiple bedrooms, five people — it appears you entered a different unit entirely, not the one booked. The studio you reserved does not have any of those characteristics. A new guest checked in on your checkout date and accessed the unit without any issues, confirming the lock and access instructions worked as intended. We take every stay seriously and consistently maintain 5-star experiences. We regret this one fell short due to the check-in confusion.
