Waking up and stepping outside to the sounds of nature is unmatched. The porch begs for a cup of coffee and taking in all the birdsong every morning. The host was even kind enough to let me use the paddock in front of the house for my dog to run a little more freely. When they say nostalgia, they mean it - it felt like house sitting for a grandparent that had gone out of town. The decor reminded me of family visits from my childhood. For some people this could be a pro, others might not like it as much. I was somewhere in the middle. The beds are decent, but would not be comfortable for a stay past a couple of days. This visit was following the first few days after a pretty hefty drought, so bugs were a concern. The host assured me the house was under regular pest control, and it showed as most of the bugs I found were already dead (mostly flies at the windowsill). There were a few instances of live bugs in the cabinet and in one of the bedrooms. If bugs are a concern to you, I would consider a different location. This would be a great stay for a family vacation. It’s affordable and offers a great deal of space in the home and on the property. It was a bit oversized for my needs, but the price was comparable to some of the smaller locations in the area - which is what caused me to choose it.
