This lake house is a fantastic place for large families! Everything was exceptional and definitely will consider another stay here in the future. Enjoyed the beautiful views from the back porch. Kids loved the kayaks, ping pong, large tv, movies and games provided. Plenty of room for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked and lots of seating options for meals. All the beds were very comfortable. Didn’t want to leave!

If you stay here you will never want to leave!!! It is the perfect home for a gathering of family or friends!!! I wish we were still there sitting on the deck or the dock looking at the beautiful views, swimming, playing games, hiking or hanging out in Asheville. The home is beautiful, spacious, clean, and well stocked with everything you will need for your vacation!
Terri, the property manager was very helpful. Even with a check in glitch, Terri went above and beyond to address an issue.
The home was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed all the eating tables that seated almost 30 ppl on one level. Having multiple beds and baths was a big plus. We loved the amazing view and lake to relax and catch up. Thank you for the use of your lake home. It met and surpassed all of our needs for the week!

Amazing Family Vacation (WE Will Be Back!)
Our family has gone to the beach every summer for over 20 years. We finally decided to change it up...WE are so glad we made the decision to head to Lake James. What an awesome time! Great location! House was large enough for 3 families. House had all the furnishings we needed to fix meals, float in the lake, or just sit on the porch and relax with a cup of coffee in the morning. We have children ranging from infants to Seniors in High School. Plenty for the kids to do at this lake house. Ping-Pong, board games, Kayaks, floating in the water, etc. We had so much fun that my father-in-law has already booked the home for next summer. If you are tired of the headaches of the beach, look no further than Lake James! Thank you to the owner of this home for allowing us to enjoy your piece of heaven on Lake James.
Overall it was a great stay. The house is huge and the views are amazing. There are many sleeping options as well as dining tables and areas. The walk to the water from the house is not at all bad compared to most. The driveway however is super steep. There were a few things that could have been slightly better but overall it was excellent. I would have much preferred to use the covered boat slip but I knew that was not an option upfront. When it rains it dumps off the roof right into your boat. The off-site boat trailer storage was a real plus. There are no house keys. The deadbolts on the back of the house are very difficult to lock from the inside. Every time you went on the boat you had to exit the front door, which locks with a code and walk all the way around the house. The downstairs refrigerator needs adjusting, it froze many things. Other than that enjoyed the stay and would go again in the future.
The home was perfect for a cousin reunion. The house was well appointed, the lake access easy (for a mountain lake), the views were gorgeous, the lake temperature perfect, the porch revitalizing, plenty of room for play, plus the manager is very accommodating (thank Terri). We will be back!
It was absolutely perfect for our family of 11. It was big and comfortable. The best thing about the house is the view! We have never stayed anywhere that had a view of the lake and a mountain range. The kids had fun jumping off the boat dock and tubing on the boat that we rented and docked at the property. Lots and lots of memories made! The Viehman & Irwin family
Very spacious home for gathering with everything you could need. Views are beautiful and easy walk to dock. Great for families with teens as entire lower level has everything they’d need (full kitchen even) or for multiple families. The driveway like many around there is quite shocking as it goes straight down but once at bottom it’s flat into house. Wonderful house overall.
This house has everything you need for a great get together with family or friends. It was 11 of us and we easily fit for a week. Having two fridges was a plus when you walk with food for that long. House is very spacious - 5 tables, kitchen bar top 2 living areas, upstairs and downstairs decks. It also has two master suites.
The views are amazing as you face west to the mountains. Lake was clean and refreshing, especially in those 90 degree days.
The pictures don’t do this house justice. It is roomy, comfortable and ideally located. The rental agent is responsive and helpful. Our family would love to stay there again.
The views were amazing!!! The house was very spacious, great rooms and bathrooms, views and verandas. So many amenties, very clean. We loved it! Also: I think Terri is an awesome property manager.
For the owner, thank you much for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home. Just a plug, we wanted a fire pit and we will make that a priority in the future. Thank You Again
Loved almost everything about this property. The house is lovely, master suites are very spacious. Loved the comfortable twin swivel chairs looking out over the lake in the upstairs master.
The path down to the lake is very steep. As a 70+ grandma with health and mobility issues, I was only able to go down twice, backwards in a wheelchair. Getting me back up to the porch was a real workout for my sons! I mostly enjoyed the porches. Also more steps than I expected.
The family really enjoyed the lake activities. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed the provided kayaks. Lots of swimming and fishing off the dock. The lake view is magnificent!
Very well stocked kitchens and it was great to have two refrigerators. The beds were comfortable, but a bit high for me. Plenty of seating in the kitchen with two tables, plus counter/bar stools. Also a formal dining room.
Would definitely recommend this property, but keep in mind that the elderly might have problems getting down to the lake.

THAT VIEW!!!
The property was very welcoming and clean. Had everything we needed to cook and celebrate our family Thanksgiving. Property manager was very responsive to any questions we had. Plenty of room for 12 people. Loved having 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms! The best thing, was that view to wake up to every morning.

Perfect for families and couple getaways
Our family loved staying at the Lake House! When my husband and I decided we wanted to get married with just our parents and grandparents present, this was a perfect location. The house was large enough for both of our immediate families to celebrate with us and then we transformed it into our honeymoon getaway for two. The house itself was beautiful inside and out...but the lake view did the trick. It has to be the best view on Lake James. The owner was nice enough to allow us to have a very small wedding in the gazebo. It created a memory for both of our families that we will never forget. We would definitely love to come back and would recommend to families and friends.

Amazing Family Retreat, Book it Today! (We'll be back!)
What an amazing time we had at this home on the Lake! This was a return visit to the lake for us and this spot is definitely amazing. It feels like you are staying at a relatives home, not a home of someone you never met. From the humming birds on the porch greeting us as we arrived and throughout our stay, to the sprawling mountain view, the well equipped kitchen(s) (best we've experienced) to the outstanding home layout, this place will wow you from the moment you arrive. The home furnishings are well kept, and you can see the owners pride and personality in their home. The neighbors are very friendly and respectful, and although the cove is active during the day (by the few residents there are), it quiets quickly at night to enjoy the serene view and stillness of the area. The beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms were an amazing size and well staged. The decline to the dock is typical of the mountainous area, but the concrete pathway allows for a you to take your time. We rented a boat from a nearby company and were able to explore the lake (which is a MUST, if you can!), it is the cleanest, most comfortable in temperature and gorgeous lake we have seen (hence our return visit to the area) and this home frames it perfectly. The driveway is steep (we were there in the summer, so no worries here, but during bad/icy weather I can imagine it might be an issue) Morning coffee on one of the two porches, or down by the dock were a highlight, each day. I would advise you to bring as many of your groceries with you when you arrive (there are some items left, but we did and typically bring all items we need) for two reasons. One, the store is a little bit away (only about 10 minutes to a locally owned grocery, 20 minutes to the larger ones) and two, you will want to spend all the time possible at the home once you arrive, not shopping. The property manager was very quick in responding to the very minimal question(s) we had, and even personally came by when we needed help finding something! Their service was outstanding. We would absolutely recommend this home and the management company for your visit to lake James (although were hoping to selfishly keep it a bit of a hidden secret gem!) If you have the chance to experience this property, it will leave you with lasting memories, as it did us. Enjoy!

Wonderful Lake Week
Our extended family enjoyed the Lake House! The house has beautiful views, easy walking access to the dock, and safe swimming in the cove. There was little boat traffic through the channel (outside of the cove) during the week; only Saturday seemed fairly busy. The house is well equipped, the bedroom and living areas were laid out well, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood with the lake and mountain views and the hills were a good workout. There are tv's and kitchens on both levels which was wonderful! It was great speaking with the house owner just after our arrival, as he gave us information on the grill and house electronics. We have already asked to reserve a week for next summer.

AWESOME! When can we come back?
Traditionally our family goes to the beach, this year we chose Lake James. The major reason our trip was so amazing was The Lake House. It was the perfect place for our family to relax and reconnect. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious; they allowed all 12 of us to spread out. We are a family of foodies, so it was great to have two fully equipped kitchens. Having to refrigerators allowed for few trips to the grocery store. The house was located in a quiet lake cul-de-sac, that offered amazing views, fun swimming, and good fishing...all right from the dock. The multiple decks and gazebo offered great places to sit and relax out of the sun. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat.

Great home away from home at Lake James!
We spent a week at The Lake House with our family and it was absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about the house and location. The view from each from is breath taking, the master bedroom has a private deck and the most gorgeous picture windows so that you can wake up with get views and fall asleep looking out over the water. All of the outdoor space is perfect for dining or relaxing. The gazebo and perfect and even during 90+ degree days it seemed so cool underneath the gazebo with the fan going. The docks are great and even a 10 month old can have fun because of the convenience. The house easily slept 12 people and has great different spaces throughout to be able to spread out for different activities. The kitchen is well stocked so that you can cook fabulous meals before dining while you overlook the lake. I literally cannot say enough about how great of an experience the entire family had!
