Would highly recommend this place!!! Super clean and roomy. Loved the small pool in the back and the lounge chairs!!! Golf cart to the beach was a nice addition!!
The house was great! So clean and they provided everything you would need. Appliances were nice and the grill, back deck and pool area was a huge plus!! Beds were comfortable and the rooms decorated beautifully. The golf cart was helpful to get to the beach. The house was very close to the beach but the kids had more fun riding the cart than the car! If we come back to Mexico beach we will stay here again!
We always wonder what will be provided or what we need to bring. Pack lightly for this place. Owners thought of everything and did not do it cheaply. Mattresses and bedding-incredible. I'll miss that "day on the beach" sleep in that amazing bed. Everything is new, extremely clean, and well-appointed. Pool was great. Golf cart is great to have. Rules seem a little daunting at first but boils down to have your license on you and stay off main road on beach. Friendly grass parking right at the road everywhere. Keurig and drip coffee maker both available. Bring what groceries and alcohol you can from home-its pricey here. Definitely bring garbage bags, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent. We loved this home and will be back.
Just me, my hubby & doggo. If we built a vacation house this would be a perfect footprint inside & out. It’s brand new so some quirks need worked out. No hair dryer, wall thermostat too controlled by owner (too warm for us northerners & couldn’t lower the temp), limited kitchen items (no serving dishes, bottle opener - finally found one on the scissors in the knife block - no pizza cutter, bread baskets, cutting board, etc.), no throw blankets for couch, & limited seating for a 4 bedroom. The pool is nice but apparently isn’t heated unless you ask & pay extra per the pool guy who appeared unannounced thru the gate early Sat am.😱 The yard is perfect for the dog but no lighting at night. Would be great for yard games like corn hole or bocce ball but you have to provide your own. Outdoor grill area is very nice-didn’t utilize. If a guest is “hosting” they would be at a complete loss here. Oh, & there’s no area or house info provided on the premises so basically you have the entrance code upon arrival & the basic Vacasa online info & that’s it. I had no direct contact with the owner so my inquiry about the thermostat was not addressed other than a broad Vacasa “sorry”. My brother lives a few streets away so we were fine but 1st time visitors to the Mexico Beach area would be totally lost for at least the first few days. Again, this house is a brand new build and a GREAT STAY but needs a bit more “basic conveniences” especially for this wonderfully out of the way beach town.
Our main issues were with maintenance. I believe VACASA was the property management company for home. This property could use some tlc from the repeated use by vacationers. We had shower doors falling off hinges. Shower valves falling off walls. Broken toilet seats, general uncleanliness. Dishwasher does not work either. The shower in the master bedroom BARELY drains. It fills up quickly with who knows what clogging the drain. The garbage from previous guest was never taken out of garage. A hot smelly garage in summer was awful. We had to take garbage and go find a dumpster down the street. We spent a lot of time on temporary fixes so we could use the property.
Not disclosing that the dishwasher was broken was rude. Nobody likes spending vacation hand washing dishes. Plus added cost for us to go buy cleaning products. VACASA was generally useless.
They did send out a handyman when the shower valve fell off wall in on my daughter. He did all he could to fix issues. We appreciated his assistance, but much of the issues required more work than he could provide.
All in all this property has potential to be so much more if VACASA would actually try and maintain the property OR ATLEAST DISCLOSE THAT THERE ARE ISSUES.
I feel bad for the owner about leaving a negative review. He has a beautiful property, but simple maintenance or disclosure of issues would have made our stay so much better. If you are planning to stay here soon be aware and prepare accordingly.
