About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Carlton
We’ve been living in the Copper River Valley for over 20 years.
Why they chose this property
We moved from Copper Center to this property about 9 years ago. The cabin is one of two buildings that remain from the original homestead which was founded in 1946. Our home was built in the late 80’s and the cabin was rented out to a friend for about 7 years. We’ve been renovating/restoring the interior for the last two years. This is one of the only private properties on the east side of the Richardson HWY between the Gulkana airport and River.
What makes this property unique
Being one of the only private properties between the Gulkana airport and River, this property is uniquely isolated but also accessible. There are some beautiful views of the Wrangell Mountains from the back of the property or a short walk up the road to the Gulkana bridge or State gravel pit. Bear Creek is also directly behind the cabin. It’s close enough to hear it running in the spring and summer.
