Our stay started badly because the HVAC/thermostat was turned off at our arrival and the interior temperature was 28. Then we found damp towels rolled up in both bathrooms - were they used or were the housekeeper(s) in a hurry? The property is minimally furnished - only one nightstand/bedside table per bedroom, no bedside lamp, no dining/game table, very little decor. The beds were very nice and the linens and pillows were good. There is a notable lack of surfaces to place luggage or accessories in bedrooms and very little surface/shelf space in the bathrooms. Dishes and cutlery were adequate for four guests. There were no ice cube trays. This place has potential (it’s nicely built and new) but the current state leaves some comforts unrealized.
I’m a Pickering homeowner and tech professional who travels frequently for work. I know exactly what makes a great stay versus a frustrating one. Fast Wi-Fi that actually works, a kitchen you can cook real meals in, a quiet workspace when you need to focus, and a clean, private space that feels like home rather than a rental. That’s what I’ve set up here. I’m responsive and hands-on as a host (you’ll hear back from me quickly), but I also respect your privacy, you won’t hear from me unless you need something. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a work trip, or a longer stay while you sort out your next move, I want this to feel effortless.
Why they chose this property
This neighbourhood is safe and residential, but it’s from from isolated. You’re minutes from Pickering Town Centre for shopping, close to the 401 for an easy 30-minute drive into downtown Toronto, and right near Pickering Casino Resort, Toronto Zoo, and Rouge National Urban Park. It’s the sweet spot: suburban peace and privacy with real access to everything the east GTA has to offer. If you’re coming from out of town, you’ll appreciate how much easier parking, space, and day-to-day life are here compared to staying downtown.
What makes this property unique
Most short-term rentals in this area are basement suites: shared entrances, low ceilings, limited light. This is an entire private townhouse. Two full bedrooms, a real full-size kitchen, your own laundry, a private backyard patio, and a dedicated workspace, all to yourself. No shared spaces, no other guests, no landlord upstairs. It’s set up for stays of any length: everything you need for a weekend is here, but it’s equally comfortable for a month-long stay with the full kitchen, laundry, and workspace. Think of it as your own temporary home in Pickering, not a rental you’re making do with.
