We are new to hosting on a platform, but not new to hosting countless people. We have been managing this property for the previous long term owner and his and our friends, family, and guests for 20+ years. In July of 2025, the former owner wanted to pass his stewardship of the lake and land to us formally thru selling us the property. It was joyous transaction as both parties have a heart for this special place.
As we transition to the primary stewards of this place, we look forward to sharing it with an even wider circle of people thru listing on a platform.
Last July, sitting in a pontoon boat in the middle of the lake as the sun set, with all of our kids and their spouses and significant others, each one shared stories of what the lake meant to them--moments in their lives they needed the peace to sit on the dock, opening the door to a friendship by inviting someone new, spiritual transformation, star gazing, sibling relationship building, enlarging the family circle and showing love to in-laws families by sharing the lake, the cabin as a safe place to stay for relatives in turmoil for a short time. So many moments.
These are the moments that are life giving and lasting. We have a heart to give you an opportunity to have those moments with your people too.
It is not a "perfect place". Nature is a bit messy. So is real life. So are real people. Stuff happens. We are problem solvers when problems or issues occur. We want you and your kids to gain peace and resilience from being in nature. The beauty of the cabin over camping is you have a bit of "1rst world backup amenities".
We have lived at the house 1/4 mile away, looking out on the lake, for more than 20 years. We love it in all seasons and all weather. It is our home. We look forward to meeting you.
