About the host
Hosted by Jackie (Familie Hu)
Villa Nisa is run by the welcoming Hu family. The owner, Jackie, is an architect, photographer, and documentary filmmaker living in Germany. He studied Bauhaus architecture in Germany and has a great passion for European historical buildings, especially from the Jugendstil to Art déco periods. Jackie has also been involved in designing several historical preservation projects for buildings over 100 years old. His passion for design and historic buildings is reflected in every detail of the villa. He speaks German, English, and Chinese, and enjoys welcoming guests from around the world and engaging in conversations with them.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because of its perfect blend of peaceful, natural surroundings and proximity to both nature and urban amenities. The area offers a serene, almost idyllic atmosphere, with lush green spaces, walking and cycling paths, and the Pfinz stream just outside the door. I truly enjoy the quiet and relaxed vibe, perfect for leisurely strolls or enjoying nature, but at the same time, you’re only a short drive away from restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions in Karlsruhe and Pforzheim. It’s the ideal balance of tranquility and convenience that makes it such a lovely place to live and visit.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is its rich history combined with modern comforts. Villa Nisa is a lovingly restored, listed barn dating back to 1895, offering a rare glimpse into the past while providing all the modern amenities for a luxurious stay. The property beautifully blends historical architecture, including a traditional barn, with a modern extension, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. The extensive grounds, with features like trampolines, a barbecue area, and an expanding garden sauna, provide a perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment. Additionally, the personal touch of the owner, Jackie, an architect with a passion for preserving historical buildings, ensures that every detail of the villa has been carefully crafted to preserve its charm and provide a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
