Treat yourself—and the environment! A tastefully furnished, sustainable ground-floor holiday rental with a separate entrance, high-speed Wi-Fi, a spacious combined bedroom and living room with a wood-burning stove and a large internet-enabled TV, a separate kitchen with a dining table and a sleeper sofa, a bathroom, a small utility room with a washing machine and a small freezer, a terrace, a natural garden, and a parking space on the property. In 2024, we once again implemented some of our goals for greater sustainability and climate protection: The entire house has been powered by green electricity for years. Since February, it has been heated by a heat pump; the electricity comes from the house’s own solar panel system. In the summer, the solar thermal system on the roof heats your shower water. A wallbox for charging your electric car is available on the property.

Would you like to slow down during your holiday in the Pfaffenwinkel region and are you looking for sustainable accommodation? Then the Vroni holiday rental is the perfect place for you! You can enjoy your breakfast in the morning sun on the terrace, which is located right in front of the holiday rental. Perhaps you’d like to grind your own morning coffee by hand using an original Dienes coffee grinder?
The garden adjoining the terrace is designed to be close to nature and is consistently maintained in an eco-friendly manner: The flower beds are planted primarily with native, insect-friendly perennials; the garden shed has a green roof; and the garden is watered with rainwater pumped from the cistern. In 2024, we received the “Bird-Friendly Garden” plaque from the LVB (State Association for Bird Protection) and the “Bayern blüht—Naturgarten” award from the Bavarian State Association for Horticulture and Landscape Conservation. Lounge chairs with cushions are available for your relaxation in the garden.
Currently, a single-family home is being built on the property across the street. This results in moderate construction noise on weekdays. To our regret, the tranquility that many guests otherwise describe as very soothing during their stay will likely be limited during normal working hours until the end of 2026.
The holiday rental, with its well-equipped kitchen, offers ample space for two to three people—and is also suitable for a small family. A high chair, children’s bedding, children’s tableware, and toys for indoors and outdoors are provided. A travel cot can easily be set up in the living/bedroom.
If you’d prefer to sleep in two separate rooms, please let us know: This is easily arranged using the high-quality sofa bed in the kitchen, which offers a comfortable sleeping surface measuring 140 cm x 200 cm. (Not just) seniors appreciate the on-site parking and the ground-floor location of the holiday rental, which stays pleasantly cool even in the height of summer. If you’re in the mood for romance, light the wood-burning stove in the living/bedroom. Otherwise, your heating is emission-free, as the heat from the radiators comes from the heat pump, which in turn draws its electricity from the property’s own photovoltaic system, supplemented by genuine green electricity. The solar thermal system on the roof heats your shower water. A washing machine in the holiday rental makes a comfortable, extended stay possible.
The Valentin am Bach Schönach pub and restaurant, featuring a bowling alley, as well as the newly built playground, football field, beach volleyball court, and a bocce court are just 200 metres away. The Janser restaurant, with its lovely beer garden, is just 150 metres away; it serves Bavarian-Croatian cuisine. You can reach the Herz Bakery, 1.2 kilometres away, via a scenic bike and walking path along the Schönach River.
The host couple, who work full-time, live in the house and are happy to answer any questions you may have about excursions. The holiday rental’s location is perfect for this, as it’s right next to the ancient Roman road Via Claudia Augusta (200 metres from the Donauwörth–Venice long-distance bike path) and just two kilometres from the Romantic Road (B17): By car, you can reach the medieval town of Schongau in five minutes, Ammersee and Wieskirche in 30 minutes each, and Neuschwanstein Castle and Lake Starnberg in 40 minutes each. Mountain hiking trails (towards Oberammergau) are accessible in as little as 30 minutes, and the nearest swimming lake is just 10 minutes away—or 24 minutes by bike through the forest. Augsburg, the city of the Fuggers (60 kilometres), and the state capital Munich (70 kilometres) are each an hour’s drive away.
If you
