Spacious living—all on one level

Spanning approximately 100 m², entirely on one level, an extraordinary designer apartment awaits you, complete with its own entrance, chalet, and breakfast terrace.

The Künstlerhaus is our own home. When we’re away for an extended period, we open it up to people who appreciate exceptional spaces just as much as we do. That’s why the house isn’t furnished like a traditional vacation rental, but is fully equipped—with many little touches that make everyday life pleasant.

The spacious layout combines an open feel with private retreats. In addition to a large living area, there are two separate bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom, a spacious open kitchen, a 6-meter-long lounge, a daybed, and a cocktail corner with a leather armchair and a view of the crackling fire.

Whether you’re staying for two nights or several weeks—the apartment is fully equipped with everything you need for daily life. Many spices and non-perishable foods are kept in the house and, of course, may be used as needed.

The open kitchen features a large induction cooktop situated in the center of the room.

The cast-iron commercial-grade sink, the retro refrigerator, and the large selection of beautiful tableware make cooking together a special experience.

Right next to it, an almost six-meter-long lounge with a daybed invites you to read, work, or relax. If needed, two additional guests can also comfortably stay here overnight.
Fast Wi-Fi and a projector instead of a traditional TV make the artist’s house both a retreat and a temporary workspace.

In the large bedroom with a TV, a high-quality box spring bed with a medical-grade topper ensures a restful night’s sleep; the bathroom is directly adjacent.

The sunken bathtub, generous storage space, and underfloor heating create a pleasant atmosphere—no matter the season.

The second bedroom is extraordinary; it’s surrounded on all sides by large glass panels, giving you the feeling that you’re spending the night in the treetops.

The garden lies in front of the house, and beneath the large chestnut tree is the breakfast terrace—a favorite spot for your first cup of coffee or a leisurely Sunday breakfast.

A special highlight is the small wooden chalet on the terrace. Furnished with fur blankets, it’s used year-round—for a glass of wine in the evening, a rainy afternoon, or, in winter, for mulled wine and hot chestnuts.

Upon request, the private parking space right next to the house can be used; otherwise, there is free street parking.

A washing machine, dryer, and freezer are available in the basement—especially convenient for longer stays.

The apartment has its own house-like entrance area and a large living area.

There are two other vacation apartments in the building, all with private entrances (some with their own gardens) and their own front doors. You won’t run into anyone else unless you want to.

Proximity to Munich: it’s a 3-minute walk to the S-Bahn, which runs every 20 minutes to downtown or the lakes. That means you’ll arrive in downtown Munich in about 15 minutes.

Right across the street, you can head straight into the woods to jog, bike, or simply enjoy nature. The house is surrounded by the largest stand of trees in town and is certainly one of Munich’s famous “green lungs.”

Shops such as a bakery, café, butcher shop, pharmacy, and grocery store are within a 5-minute walk. The larger town with its shopping street, restaurants, etc., is about a 10-minute bike ride away. We’re happy to provide bicycles upon request. The large Tesslerwerk Munich facility, complete with a charging station, is a 5-minute drive away.

Our house is designed for people who value atmosphere over perfection.

Large glass surfaces surrounded by greenery reflect nature and sometimes bear subtle traces of it after a rainy day. Leaves on the terrace, birdsong, or a spiderweb in the garden in the morning are just as much a part of a mature property as the scent of wood.
