The cabin is a bit farther than I expected it to be from the city but I would totally recommend it! The check in process was super easy, the place was really clean! We had everything we needed. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. I didn’t contact the host much but when I did have a few questions they were easy to contact and answered within a day or two. Overall, it was a great place to stay at! Totally recommend!
This accommodated my family well, but the beds were too hard for me and we had a problem with locking the door the first day. We had to call mgmt to come and give us a key to use instead. Also, there were no outside deck or parking lights to use after dark which was a safety concern.
My biggest complaint is with the Property Mgmt Co for not being accommodating with a late check request due to unforeseen circumstances regarding mechanical issue with rental car which I needed to returned to Reno the morning of check out. Rental came from SMF.
Apparently, they sent a email about late checkout the day before and since i did not respond to that, I lost my window for late check out due to stupid rules and i needed to be out by 10 AM or i will be penalized.
Too many rules and no compassion for anyone having unforeseen circumstances and I was only requesting 2 hour extension so we could eat breakfast.
What should have been a leisurely day with family, turned it into a stressful and chaotic check out to make 10 AM deadline.
I will never book with that mgmt company again.

Loralee, thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced during your time with us.
We are disappointed to read that your recent experience was not satisfactory. We will continue to work with both our local staff and homeowner to make improvements to this home, and we hope you'll give us a second chance to impress you!
Nice on paper, but disappointing experience overall
First impression of this property was nice, but a day in we all became fed up with the place
- Bed sheets were not cleaned, found dirt/hair under the covers. Another bedroom found a toilet role under the bed (?)
- Trash wasn't taken out from previous tenant, almost couldn't fit ours in the bear safe
- Kitchen is weirdly understocked; no kettle, so we needed to boil water in a saucepan to make tea 😂 also no kitchen towels to dry dishes, and no dish cloths to wipe down counters
- Electrical system is on the way out; lights flicker when you use the microwave, or the insinkerator, or just about anything... feels like the fuses are about to trip at all times
- One of the bedrooms doubles as a laundry, with the washer and dryer inside it. Pretty inconvenient
- TV didn't have streaming services & the remotes didn't work properly, ended up using my laptop via HDMI so that we could watch movies
honestly not stay here again unless the points above were addressed 🤷♂️

Loved this place. Absolutely perfect. We even got the perfect amount of snow and flurries. Very clean, easy to get to and close enough, but far away enough from South Lake Tahoe. We will definitely be back again.

Great hidden oasis
This cabin was located just outside of South Lake Tahoe, it was located in a nice wooded area. It was far enough outside of town that we did not have to deal with people all around us, it was a very busy New Years crowd, yet close enough that we could get into town or to Sierra at Tahoe in about 15 minutes. The Cabin itself was nice and clean, there was plenty of room for my family (wife and 2 kids) and my Mother and Step-Father. The beds, couches, and chairs were all comfortable. Having the washer and dryer was awesome! My only complaint would be that there was not a dining room table for all of us to eat together. There were two "side" tables that looked like they could be joined to form a table but that still didn't look large enough. We had the kids eat at the bar and the adults used the T.V. trays that were provided. That was just a minor inconvenience. Overall everything was great, everything worked and was clean. There were plenty of towels, pots, pans, utensils, and both a keurig and standard coffee maker. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants the woodsy type feel and the convenience of being just slightly out of the busy town (15 minutes). There was a store less than 5 minutes away which is where we would go for groceries.

Nice house, ideal location
Nice house in quiet pleasant development outside South Lake Tahoe. Close but not too close to main businesses of SLT. Convenient to skiing in season, and hiking options right out the door.

Great winter cabin
This place was clean and comfy. It was a good size for our group, 4 adults and 2 kids. All the essentials were provided: towels, silverware, pots/pans, knives, standard and keurig coffee makers. The beds and chairs were comfortable. Overall a great place just outside of the busy south lake crowd but close enough that you will not miss out on anything(15 minute drive). Plenty of off street parking. I would definitely recommend this place!!
