Set right on the rippling, crystal clear waters of Donner Lake and boasting 180-degree panoramic views of the mountains to the south, this wonderful, two-story vacation rental offers an extremely comfortable and serene location for the perfect family vacation! Enjoy plentiful sunshine throughout the year both inside and out while you prepare your favorite recipes in the well-equipped, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a five-burner gas range. Dine together indoors at the breakfast bar, at the cozy kitchen table, or al fresco out on the deck complete with a gas grill for summertime cookouts. And in the evenings, settle into the inviting living area warmed by a wood-burning stove and stream your favorite shows and movies on the flatscreen TV. Back outside, discover 50-feet of easy access, a private waterfront and dock, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding. Fireplace will be out of service as long as this message is on the listing. There is alternative heat in the home.



For your convenience, there is a market directly across the street for essentials as well as Donner Lake Kitchen, one of Truckee's most popular breakfast restaurants. Guests will also find community tennis and basketball courts at West End Beach, a 10-acre recreational park, just a little over two miles west.

Please note: Guests must not swim to the right (west) side of the dock, as this is the designated swimming area for the neighboring property. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting our neighbors' private waterfront area.

Pets are welcome at this property for an additional pet fee of $200 per stay. Please add your pet during the booking process or contact us prior to arrival so the fee can be applied.

Great place. Nice dock and water access.We highly recommend parking your car in the garage. We parked in the driveway under the large pine trees, there were high winds which blew the young, dense, heavy pinne cones off the high branches, which caused significant damage to our car.

Incredible lakefront getaway

Can't beat this home located directly on Donner Lake. Our family had so much fun swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and kayaking. Highly recommend this getaway retreat!

As usual, this is our happy place in the mountains. We had a lovely time and its convenience to sugar bowl, 10 mins, and truckee main drag, 8 mins, but quiet peaceful location on the lake was ideal. We’d move in if we could :). My son, age 6, has the best time even in winter rock hunting on the beach and we both enjoyed bird watching right from the dining table in morning and afternoon!

Wonderful property

This house is definitely one we will come back to. We had such a great time paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming in the lake. It was a perfect escape from reality for a few days.

We have in the past stayed in the western portion of the lake and found that this stay provided more vistas without having to drive anywhere.

Perfect lake house

Great Lake View and Beautiful Sunsets!

Great lakeside property with private dock and water access which the dogs loved. Home is well equipped with everything needed, clean and comfortable. Perfect for 6 adults and can't wait to visit again!

Great Fishing off the Private Dock.

Beautiful home in a perfect location. Loved the view of Donner Lake, and really enjoyed the train traveling the mountains across the way. High-end outdoor furniture made it extra special. Our DOG rates it 5-stars, also!!

We Hope to Come Back Year After Year

Everything was perfect and we can’t wait to stay here again. Oh and that view! We think it’s the best spot on the lake. We like that the decor isn’t too cabin cutesy bears/moose/fish. It was truly dog friendly so everyone had fun.
