This holiday rental on the ground floor of the old “Villa B,” renovated with great care and passion, stands out for its open floor plan—see below—and a large loggia. It’s bright and lets in plenty of sunlight. Spanning 136 square metres, this apartment offers a stylish ambiance for up to five guests—thanks in part to a few classic pieces of furniture. The walls and floors are harmoniously coordinated with a keen eye for colour combinations: The shades of brown, white, and dove blue have a calming, relaxing, and harmonious effect all at once.
Accommodation with a covered loggia.
From the large, covered loggia with its expansive arched windows, there’s a breathtaking view of Gotha Castle and the Seeberg. This is the perfect spot: to start the day with a hearty breakfast, to relax, or to end the day with a culinary treat. From the loggia, you can step back into the modern kitchen, where a round table promises cosy moments. Restored sliding door & relaxation room.
Straight ahead, a wide, doorless passageway leads directly into the living room. The old doors have been lovingly restored. In particular, a sliding door with a colourful glass panel exudes a charm reminiscent of times long past. It opens onto another smaller relaxation room where a fifth person can stay overnight.
Two bedrooms – two bathrooms
Of course, there are also two large bedrooms: The first features a 1.60-meter-wide box-spring bed, a private bathroom with a shower and toilet, and a walk-in closet. The second sleeping area has a 1.80-meter-wide box-spring bed. The best part: This room also leads to a separate bathroom with a tub, shower, and toilet. Essentially between the two rooms is another guest bathroom.
Central hallway as a “distribution hub”
Guests staying in this accommodation enter Villa B through the covered entrance area with its arched architecture. This architectural detail is echoed in the loggia one floor up—when you step from the spacious hallway into the kitchen and from there onto the loggia. - About This Property -
We warmly welcome you to “Villa B,” built in 1910. We, Ines Seyffarth and Peter Domnick, acquired the property in 2017 and renovated it with great attention to detail. The “B” in the name stands for Blödner, the name of a prominent family of industrialists in Gotha during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Karl Blödner built the house for his daughter Ella Bätz—it sits on a hillside, exudes an air of sophistication, and is conveniently located near the city centre: Within a few
minutes on foot, you’ll reach the historic city centre area.

Gotha is THE ideal starting point for exploring Thuringia. First mentioned as “villa gotaha,” the former royal seat of the Duchies of Saxe-Coburg-Altenburg and Saxe-Coburg-Gotha has plenty of sights to offer: In addition to its historic city centre and the Augustinian monastery, Friedensstein Castle—including the Ekhof Theatre—the fortifications (the casemates), which are open to visitors, the Ducal Museum, the water features, and the famous Orangery with its English Garden all serve as reminders of the city’s Baroque tradition.
’s court was frequented by Voltaire, Goethe, Emperor Napoleon, and Frederick the Great, King of Prussia.
Other major attractions include the Tivoli Memorial, featuring permanent and special exhibitions, where the SPD was founded in 1875.
