My family had a wonderful stay. House was spacious and direct access/view of the lake was perfect. Kitchen is stocked with essentials for cooking, listing was accurate on other amenities. Highly recommend for a relaxing lake vacation.
We had a great stay at Cozy Cabin! The house was clean and was more than what we expected. Eric was helpful and always accessible. We definitely hope to return in the future.

It was great to have you at the Cozy Cabin! I really hope you do return. It was an absolute pleasure.
Wonderful place for a family. Awesome access to the lake and use of some very fun diving platforms, and kayaks. Quiet property back in the woods and right on the water. 20 minute drive to portland. Couldn't ask for more.
This is our second time at the cozy cabin and we loved it just as much as the first! The house is beautiful and clean. And don’t let the term cozy fool you. It has plenty of room for the family. The lake is amazing! The atmosphere is top notch and the kids loved the kayaks, paddle boards and peddle boat. My only complaint is the trip was too short!
The house is very spacious and has everything you need fora perfect vacation. Our 2 teen daughters stayed on the lower level and loved having it all to themselves. The upper deck was a quiet peaceful spot for me to enjoy my morning coffee and enjoy a beautiful view while I work remotely. We kayaked, swam, had a fire, the list goes on and on. Close to Portland with great restaurants and plenty of shopping. Highly recommend.
We stayed at this house in 2020 and really liked it so we decided to come back this year. The layout of the house was perfect for our family and friends. Teenagers had one floor and the rest of us had the upstairs. The lake is so nice and peaceful during the week. We were able to enjoy the kayaks, paddle boards and the lake. Also, being close to everything makes it nice so we enjoyed a trip to Portland and even went to a drive-in movie. We will definitely be back!
This house is fantastic! Perfect lake house and really warm lake water that is perfect for lots of kiddo fun. The lake has a shallow area at the dock stairs which is great for the little kids and it was so fun to swim out to the floating dock.
Well stocked, very clean and very comfortable house. Kitchen has everything you need; we also grilled, which was great. Plenty of blankets and pillows and lots of good communal space. They have plenty of lake towels and kayaks/SUP.
We can’t wait to go back.
We had a wonderful Maine vacation with our teenage sons. The house was spacious and clean with an amply appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. The lake views and fresh breezes were lovely! We spent time on the deck reading, and all of us enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding on the lake. There was plenty of room for us to spread out inside, with TVs on both floors for rainy days. The owner is a great communicator, and he provided helpful suggestions for nearby shopping and attractions. We all want to come back to Highland Lake!
The property was great. The house was clean and had more than enough room for our group. The views of the lake are amazing and the property has a fire pit and kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. There is a floating dock. The area is private and quiet. There was even a friendly stray cat! Eric the owner was easy to work with and there were clear directions left for us. It was a wonderful vacation and a house I would definitely return to!
Just what we were looking for in a summer getaway…
Our family, including two kids in their late teens, enjoyed everything about this property. As soon as we arrived we knew it was going to be a great week. The house is loaded with all amenities you would expect to have in your own home. The rooms are spacious and super clean. The kitchen and three bathrooms, all updated, is a plus. Then you look at the view. Morning coffee on the upper deck overlooking the quiet lake is how every day should start. Just steps from the house is a dock with easy access to the water and a swim platform. We spent most of our days floating on the swim platform and kayaking or paddle boarding which are included with the rental. Evenings could be spent playing games found in the family area or sitting by the fire pit outside. Even though this property feels secluded it is only minutes away from stores and restaurants. There is a drive-in, a bowling/laser tag facility and craft brewery nearby. Owner is highly responsive and cares about your satisfaction with your stay. We will definitely reserve this property again next summer.
Everything about this property was better than we expected. We have stayed all over including stays at 5 star luxury hotels. I am finicky as to places for our family vacation. Eric was delightful to work with. He provided answers to questions when needed and even directed us to a great nearby grocery store. This home is nicer than even the pictures can convey. My teens didnt want to leave at the end of the week. I can not express enough how nice it is to have a space feel like home the minute you walk through the door. Our first vacation in over three years and for our 20th anniversary - fulfilled all our expectations.
We were all very impressed with the accommodations, cleanliness, and attention provided by the owner. I would recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the Portland area.
Where to begin? We were two couples and two single women staying for five nights. The home was very clean and well stocked - bathrooms upstairs a little small but was great having three bathrooms in the house! The kitchen had every utensil you could want - made wonderful breakfasts that we enjoyed on the deck overlooking the lake. The view of the lake from a few of the bedrooms was stunning! We enjoyed the firepit and took the paddleboards and kayaks out on the lake several times. The last night three of us enjoyed a moonlight paddle while the rest kept the fire going. Plenty of room for the six of us inside and outside. Only 25 mins from Portland. Eric was a terrific communicator - was very evident that he wanted his guests to enjoy their time at his house - and we certainly did! We came to do the Maine LIghthouse Bike Ride and would love to make it (and staying at Eric's) at tradition!
All around great time! The cozy cabin is more than just a cabin, it is a home built from love. It qas truly a pleasure staying at the cabin. Eric was a delight to communicate with, every host should take a page out of his owner's book. Home was very clean, which was a must for us.
Eric is quick to reply to email and texts.
We will definitely be back!
This property was wonderful. Right on the lake, it was a beautiful setting for our family vacation. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and swimming, too! The fire pit provided a nice place to sit in the evening. We really enjoyed it!
We have stayed in about a dozen or so rental properties over the years and this one was by far the best. It is beautiful in pictures but even more so in person. Very spacious so everyone has their space. It impeccably clean. The kitchen had everything you need and ample plastic ware, cups, and chinette plates so you do not have to do dishes. The grill was fantastic and we used it almost every day. The exterior and deck offer incredible views, fire pit, relaxing chairs, and a hammock. There is plenty to do with a dock, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and a pedal boat. There is an easy swim to the floating dock which has pop up back rests and a table. The lake is very clean and the water temp was good. It is not big like Sebago and we stayed Mon to Fri and there were minimal power boats making it easier to kayak. And Eric is an excellent host. Constant communication and proactively sent us things to do on a day it was going to rain. This property has been in their house for generations and was just renovated in 2018. You can feel family and love throughout the cabin!! Will definitely return!
The cozy cabin was great. Had everything we needed. Easy to communicate with owner. Responded very quickly. The property was easy to find. Not far from grocery store. And not far from Portland. My family especially enjoyed the outside. The kayaks/ paddle boards were a nice way to get out on the water.
We loved the lakefront area with fire pit and deck. The use of kayaks was great. We spent most of our time in the city sightseeing, eating and drinking, so we mostly spent evenings at the cabin. A dishwasher would be useful and somewhere for us women to put all of our toiletries after showering :) Other than that, was quiet and peaceful! Thank you for letting us stay there!
What you think a cabin in Maine should be like (with convenience added)!
Cabin and lake were great! Excellent view. Provided natural beauty, peace, and quiet within a reasonable drive to all that Portland offers. Owner was very helpful and the process was super simple.
This place is as pictured. It is a beautiful updated log home. We went in April when it was still cold but it was nice to get away. The home was equipped with everything we needed. Eric was nice enough to check in often to see how we were doing. It is secluded enough that you definitely have privacy but close enough to Portland and shops if needed. The views of the lake are also amazing. I can see how summer time would be great here.
