The Hemlock | Modern Log Cabin + Mountain Views on 88 Private Acres
The Hemlock sits on a private wooded hillside above Summersville with sweeping views of the mountains beyond. Situated on 88 private acres with rugged hiking trails throughout, you`ll find yourself immersed in nature from the moment you drive through the gate.
The Cabin A modern log cabin that melds the warmth of timber construction with the comfort of contemporary design — 2,100 square feet across three floors, finished with intention and thoughtfully furnished.
The Main Level The main level offers kitchen, dining, and living rooms woven together beneath large cathedral ceilings; you’ll find your eyes pulled upward toward the treed canopy outside. Natural light filters in and a large wraparound porch invites you out — a default location for coffee, meals, BBQ`ing, evening drinks, and long conversations that run later than planned. The views down the mountain are something to behold, and sunrises with coffee in hand are worth the early rise.
The Bedrooms Three bedrooms across the cabin give everyone their own space to recharge. The main level holds a bedroom with log bed frame with a queen bed - there’s a bathroom just outside your door and closet and chests of drawers for clothing. A second bedroom downstairs offers a queen bed, closet and chests of drawers with bathroom just outside your door. The upper level is anchored by a large lofted bedroom with a private half-bath, a seating area, and a vantage point looking down into the living and dining area below.
The Lower Level This is where evenings tend to land. A large 65` television with a properly distanced couch immerses you in the movie of choice. The Comic Corner offers the perfect spot to hole up with a comic pulled from the shelves above. A wall-mounted multi-cade brings the games of childhood to your fingertips — Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and about 1,000 more. The Game Corner is set up and ready for poker, board games, and more. End the night with the natural gas fireplace going and sleep settling over everyone gathered.
The Land Steepwood is 88 acres of private West Virginia wilderness — trails to explore, sky to watch, and abutting “Army Core of Engineers” land offers expansive exploring for the more adventurous hikers out there! The Hemlock — House Rules
