About this property

Cozy Container: A Shipping Container Retreat for Pups & People.

Welcome to Cozy Container, a one-of-a-kind architectural escape where rugged steel meets intentional warmth. Nestled on 9 private acres of pristine forest with no visible neighbors, our custom-built shipping container home offers total solitude with the reliability of a fully grid-tied home.
Whether you’re here for world-class fishing or a quiet woodland reset, you’ll enjoy a seamless experience with high-speed Starlink internet and a high-end, thoughtful build.

Designed for Dogs & Restful Sleep
We built this with a "paws-first" philosophy. The centerpiece of the bedroom is a California King bed with two integrated 8-foot-long kennels built directly into the frame—giving your pups a secure, spacious "den" without sacrificing floor space. To manage the Midnight Sun, the bedroom is equipped with cordless blackout honeycomb blinds for easier sleep during the long Alaskan days.

(Note: The 9-acre property is currently unfenced; we welcome well-trained adventure pups comfortable in a wilderness environment.)

Functional, High-End Amenities
We’ve upsized the essentials that matter most for both short trips and extended stays:

• The Laundry: Includes an in-home washer and dryer, essential for refreshing gear after a day in the woods.

• The Kitchenette: Featuring a two-burner induction cooktop, convection oven, and a full-sized Samsung refrigerator. A massive 36” sink and custom dining table make meals easy.

• The Spa Suite: A sprawling 6’x4’ walk-in shower with custom tile work and a modern bathroom featuring a bidet.

• Tech: High-speed Starlink internet and a 55” Samsung Art TV (The Frame).

Outdoor Living & Location
Fire up the charcoal BBQ grill and smoker and enjoy the total quiet of the forest. With a 200-foot private driveway, there is ample room for two vehicles to park side-by-side.

• 10 Minutes: Public access to the legendary Kenai River.
• 9 Acres: Total seclusion with zero neighbors in sight.
• Fishermen Welcome: To keep our custom interiors pristine, we kindly ask that all fish cleaning be done at the professional stations located at the nearby river access points.

About Us
We are Kevin and Pamela, and this home is a labor of love that we built from the ground up. Kevin is born and raised in Alaska, and we both share a deep passion for the rugged beauty of this state. Our story actually began in Denali National Park, where we both work during the summer seasons.

Our Hosting Story
We didn’t just buy this cabin—we created it. We took a world-traveling shipping container and transformed it into a modern sanctuary on 9 private acres. We personally handled the welding, the framing, and even the hand-finished dark walnut countertops. Kevin’s journey—from overcoming the physical hurdles of Cerebral Palsy to finishing the 26-mile Equinox Marathon—is the same spirit of determination we poured into every weld of this house.

What we love
When we aren't working in the Park or fine-tuning the container, we’re usually out exploring with our dogs (including Diamond, Pamela’s service dog). We built this space to be a warm, intentional retreat for fellow adventurers. Whether you’re here for the world-class fishing in Soldotna or a quiet place to recharge among the spruce trees, we’re honored to share our dream with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because it offered the rare freedom to build the unique home of our dreams without the restrictions of building covenants. It allowed us to be creative and intentional with our container design.

The setting here is truly special. We are less than a mile away from the pristine Browns Lake, a hidden gem that feels completely untouched by man. It is the perfect place to experience the quiet beauty of the Alaskan wild.

Beyond the landscape, the community here is what keeps us rooted. We have amazing neighbors who embody the true Alaskan spirit—always ready to lend a hand and help each other in times of need. It’s a place where you can enjoy total privacy on your own 9 acres, while knowing you’re part of a solid, welcoming community.

What makes this property unique

• Architectural Soul: This isn’t a kit home. It’s a 40-foot world-traveling shipping container that we personally transformed. You’ll see the industrial heritage of the steel exterior paired with an interior that feels like a boutique sanctuary, featuring custom-welded openings and hand-finished dark walnut countertops.

• True Alaskan Seclusion: We are situated on 9 private acres of spruce forest. While many rentals are tucked into busy neighborhoods, our basecamp offers total privacy. It’s common to see local wildlife right outside the window, all while being less than a mile from the untouched beauty of Browns Lake.

• The 'Park Worker' Standard: Because we work in Denali National Park, we understand what makes a great basecamp. We’ve designed this space to be rugged enough for the Kenai wild, but cozy enough to feel like a premium retreat after a long day of fishing or hiking.
