Rømø is surrounded by the roaring North Sea and the wide, flat Wadden Sea and offers fascinating natural areas. Take a walk to the harbor and catch a glimpse of the fishing boats or watch the Sylt ferry docking and casting off. For centuries, Rømø has captivated people. First it was the fishermen and then the wealthy whaler captains, whose pretty and lovingly restored thatched houses are still admired by visitors to the island. Thanks to the unique nature and the enormous expanses of this island with the widest and finest sandy beaches in Europe, you can still find a quiet place all to yourself.
