Great vacation home in Acadia.

We loved our 3-day stay in this home. Close to the national park and in a quieter neighborhood. Would definitely recommend it.

A relaxing and peaceful getaway

Lovely location in the Southwest Harbor neighborhood. We enjoyed walking to the beach, the nearby pier, and into town. It’s a cute, welcoming, and comfortable home with a great deck. Would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely Stay

My family had a lovely visit in August. We enjoyed the close proximity to the restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor and hiking the nearby Ship Harbor Trail. We also enjoyed looking at the stars snd watching the crabs on the beach at night. The cottage had plenty of AC for the warmer days, and enough cozy space for our family of four.

Perfect!

We had a fantastic stay at the Birdhouse. There was plenty of space for our family of 4. The area was quiet and we loved the private access to the beach! We could easily access Acadia National Park and even found some hikes just a few minutes away. The house was clean and comfortable. We got to meet and chat with the owners, who are lovely people. Would highly recommend this place!

Southwest Harbor Gem

The home was clean and quiet. Additionally, the amenities-washer/dryer, outdoor deck, extra towels, adequate kitchen supplies(pots, pans and dishware) make a long stay enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring Acadia National Park and the Maine coast. The quiet side is picturesque with much to do. A wonderful time was had by all.

Cottage style home on the non-congested side of Acadia

Overall, the stay was fine. For awareness, this listing is marketed on VRBO, but actually another property manager, Vacasa, manages everything. It can be a little confusing.

Beautiful home in nice location

We enjoyed our stay here as we spent the days exploring Acadia. It was nice to come back to SW Harbor where it was quieter than Bar Harbor. This place is located next to the Claremont Hotel which was super convenient for getting a delicious meal one evening. They also have a coffee shop/bakery. The one downside being next door to this hotel was that their laundry facility was directly behind our bedroom and they had outdoor security lights on all night that shone into the bedroom. I think if there were room darkening curtains that would be really helpful. Otherwise the place was very clean and it was a comfortable bed (good for my back issues). Nice to have a full kitchen for making breakfast in the morning.

Beautiful Fall Escape

The Bird House is a lovely, peaceful cottage nestled among the trees with water view glimpses just a few steps away from the beautiful beach path of the rocky harbor. It accommodated a family of four comfortably. The inside was clean with updated bedroom furniture and updated bathrooms. The whole place felt bright and welcoming with a coastal vibe of hand-picked decorative artwork and furnishings. The cottage can be warm and cozy perfect for cooler weather or open and breezy to take advantage of warmer days. Shops, dining, bakery, and even the post office were all within walking distance. The local market was just a short drive for us to dine in among the tree tops on the porch. Our family is looking forward to planning a future adventure with family friends in one of the larger homes, so we can gather together.
