About this property
Historic Garden Flat w/ Screened Porch and Court Yard, Walk to Forsyth & Squares
Welcome to the lower level of the right-side townhouse at the Dueling Sisters Inn — a comfortable, character-filled Savannah stay just two blocks from Forsyth Park.
This two-bedroom, one-bath apartment is perfect for guests who want space, walkability, and a true sense of place without the fuss of something overly polished. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, roomy, and easy to settle into after a day exploring the city.
Long ago, this was the home of Mildred — the quieter, more particular of the twin sisters who lived side by side in these matching townhouses. While her sister next door filled her home with laughter and late-night gatherings, Mildred preferred things just so. She kept a tidy house, baked often, and had a way of noticing when something was out of place. Some guests say she still does.
Inside, the apartment offers two queen bedrooms, a full kitchen, a comfortable living area, and a dining table for four. There’s a screened-in back porch where you can enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening, along with a private courtyard space that gives you a rare bit of outdoor quiet in the middle of the Historic District.
The home shows its age in the best way. Floors creak, doors may stick, and not everything is perfectly level — but that’s part of what makes it feel like Savannah. It’s a home with history, not a showroom.
You may notice the occasional light left on or something slightly moved from where you left it. We can’t say for certain, but Mildred was known to keep a close eye on her home. Fortunately, she’s said to be the orderly type.
The space is cared for by Miss Stacy, our longtime housekeeper who knows every inch of the property. She keeps things clean, comfortable, and ready for guests — and insists the house has its own personality. You may see her from time to time, but otherwise the space is yours to enjoy.
Located in Savannah’s Historic District, you’re just a short walk to Forsyth Park, local cafes, restaurants, shops, and the city’s famous squares. Whether you’re here for a quiet getaway or a weekend exploring everything Savannah has to offer, this location makes it easy to do it all without needing a car.
If you’re looking for something modern and perfect, this may not be the place. But if you want a comfortable home with charm, walkability, and a story behind it, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the host
Hosted by Billy
We’re local Savannah hosts who love historic homes, good stories, and creating places where guests can truly settle in and feel at home. The Dueling Sisters Inn is one of our favorite properties because it’s not just a place to stay — it’s a piece of Savannah’s personality.
We’ve worked to preserve the charm, quirks, and history of these homes while making sure they’re clean, comfortable, and easy to enjoy. You won’t find anything overly polished here, but you will find character, warmth, and a space that feels lived in and welcoming.
We take pride in being responsive, easy to work with, and giving guests both privacy and support when needed. Our goal is simple: a great stay, in a place you’ll remember.
Why they chose this property
This part of Savannah’s Historic District is one of the most special places in the city. You’re just a short walk to Forsyth Park, but far enough from the busiest tourist areas to enjoy a quieter, more residential feel.
We love this neighborhood because it captures everything people come to Savannah for — moss-covered oak trees, historic homes, walkable streets, and a pace that encourages you to slow down. You can walk to coffee shops, restaurants, local bars, and the city’s famous squares, all without needing a car.
It’s the kind of place where mornings start on the porch, afternoons are spent exploring, and evenings wind down with a drink and good conversation. It feels like Savannah in the best way.
What makes this property unique
This isn’t just another historic Savannah rental — it’s a home with a story.
The Dueling Sisters Inn was built for twin sisters whose personalities couldn’t have been more different. That contrast still lives on in the space today. Guests often say the home has a certain energy to it — warm, a little quirky, and full of character you just don’t find in newer properties.
What really sets it apart is the balance. You get the charm and history of an old Savannah home — original floors, porches, and lived-in character — without sacrificing comfort. The layout also gives you space to spread out, which is rare this close to Forsyth Park.
The location is another standout. Being able to walk to Forsyth, coffee shops, restaurants, and the historic squares makes the whole experience feel effortless.
And then there’s the personality. Between the stories of the sisters, the little quirks of the house, and Miss Stacy keeping everything in order, it’s the kind of place guests remember long after they leave
