Lake Sherwood is both prestigious and private. The only way to experience the lake is through residential access - it is not open to the general public.
In 1922, the original Robin Hood movie with Douglas Fairbanks was filmed on location nearby, and the lake is named for Sherwood Forest. The lake and surrounding areas are often filming locations to this day.
Lake Sherwood is home to many rich and famous.
The stunning, natural setting feels remote, but restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away. Lake Sherwood is about 20 miles from Zuma Beach and 40 miles north of Los Angeles. The local town of Westlake Village has a variety of food options for dine-in or take-out.
