On sunny days, the Reit im Winkl swimming pool—featuring the largest water slide in Chiemgau—invites you to have fun in the cool water. If you prefer a more natural setting, don’t miss the three swimming lakes, which are just a 5-minute drive away, or spend a day at Loferstrand, located right next to the house. Cross-country ski trails and hiking paths are in the immediate vicinity.

Reit im Winkl: A Climatic Health Resort According to Wikipedia, the designation “climatic health resort” is awarded to “locations whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess properties that are beneficial for relaxation and health.” Reit im Winkl was designated a health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the criteria for this designation ever since through its ongoing efforts. One key factor is its high elevation, which ensures that summer heat is moderate and nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the “Bavarian Alps” climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valleys on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air by utilising natural heat sources and providing ample bus service.
