The environment

Schmitten (Albula) is located directly on the Davos – Lenzerheide-Chur postal bus line. Post bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
The idyllic ski paradise of the Albula Valley in the canton of Graubünden invites you to spend a winter holiday with its beautiful mountains. The ski areas of Davos, equipped with modern lifts and first-class pistes, as well as the ski regions of Lenzerheide/Valbella (known from the FIS Ski World Cup final) and Savognin are each approx. 20 km away and can be reached quickly by car or post bus.
Both in Davos and in Lenzerheide there is also the possibility for other winter activities, e.g.
Directly from the front door you can take a variety of hikes and walks in summer. For example, you can hike from the Albula Valley to Arosa or enjoy an impressive mountain panorama on the descent from the 2865 m high Rothorn in Lenzerheide. The nearby towns of Tiefencastel (approx. 10 km away) and Filisur (approx. 6 km away) are on the Chur — St. Moritz railway line and are express train stations for the Glacier and Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway. In front of Filisur is the famous Landwasser Viaduct. In the Albula Valley, below the village, the thermal baths with sauna area and the adjoining 9-hole golf course in the sub-community of Alvaneu Bad are ideal for relaxation. Bathing enthusiasts get their money's worth at a small bathing lake in Savognin. Active holiday lovers are also catered for with a wide range of activities, e.g. mountain biking, paragliding, etc. Schmitten is also an ideal starting point for varied motorbike tours.

Supermegaguet!

Alles was man braucht

Perfect stay for visiting the Spengler Cup with two families
- More than large enough to host two families (7 persons). Lay-out of the rooms allows for some privacy between families and/or boy/girl teenagers. - Schmitten (which is quiet by itself) as a base camp in a central location for visiting the region. - Parking available - WiFi! This is relatively important given that Switzerland is outside of EU and thus not included in our mobile phone plans (roaming). Teenagers can connect with their friends in the evening (happy teenagers = happy parents), grownups can research their outings. - I wouldn't call the stay "luxury" per se but it does have everything I one could possibly need. - Mention that WiFi is available. It kind of came as a surprise to us, because it is not mentioned anywhere. - Bergkultur website doesn't simply switch between German and English version of a page (e.g. description of this stay), it switches to another page when changing languages. Engisch version of the site probably needs some work. - this particular stay seems hard to find on Bergkultur website. We found it via Google and saved a deep link to the particular page.
