Basedow borders Lake Malchin to the east and is located in the geographic centre of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Here you’ll find a combination of a castle, a sprawling landscape park, farm buildings, and a village—a sight likely unique in Mecklenburg.

Basedow is located in the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Kummerow Lake Nature Park—a paradise for cyclists, hikers, and waterway travellers. From the five observation towers in the nature park, you can discover the wonderful landscape of Mecklenburg Switzerland. The observation towers are located on Lake Malchin in Basedow, Dahmen, and Wendischhagen, and on Lake Kummerow in Neukalen and Verchen. There, you can spot otters, beavers, cranes, and various species of eagles. You can book public guided tours in Basedow through the Nature Park Administration.

The centrepiece of Basedow is the castle with its landscape park designed by Lenné. Guided tours of the castle and park are available daily. Also worth visiting are the village church with its valuable organ, the newly built royal stables, and two megalithic tombs.



Lakefront Bungalow:

The bungalow, featuring a terrace and garden, includes a living room with a sleeper sofa, a kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with a shower.

The small beach in Seedorf, complete with a lawn and a bridge, is 200 metres away. At the large beach in Seedorf (about 1 km away), there is a playground, a kiosk, and a canoe and bike rental service. In the village, you’ll find a small village store where you can buy breakfast rolls, fishing licences, and tourist information. The well-maintained hiking and biking trails around Lake Malchin, Lake Kummerow, and through Mecklenburg Switzerland make for relaxing day trips. You can rent sailboats and motorboats in Malchin. Boat tours on the Peene River are particularly charming. Let the beautiful Mecklenburg countryside invite you to enjoy a relaxing holiday. Nearby towns include Malchin, Teterow, and Waren (Müritz).

Es war fürchterlich! WLAN war im Umkreis von 2 km nicht vorhanden. Die Betten waren total durchgelegen. Das Geschirr hat Flohmarkt Style ohne Stil. Da sind die Mücken, die permanent gestochen haben das geringste Problem. Die Adresse, die vorher zugesandt wurde war nicht korrekt. Bei Nachfrage keiner von geantwortet von fewo- direkt.
