The Maisonette vacation rental is located in the Oberstaader1 vacation home, on the edge of the Lake Constance Shore Nature Reserve, which is an 8-minute walk away. This impressive, 500-year-old, historic half-timbered house has been luxuriously renovated. On the outside, it has retained its unique character. Within its historic walls, new, comfortable rooms have been created that invite you to relax and unwind.
The Maisonette vacation rental is one of three beautiful apartments located in the “Oberstaader 1” building.
The apartment features an idyllically landscaped garden, partly planted with culinary herbs, as well as a large terrace and a lawn for sunbathing. The outdoor shower (hot + cold) provides a wonderfully refreshing cool-down after a long bike ride or a strenuous hike.
The electric grill is perfect for a cozy get-together with family or friends. Steaks, hamburgers, or vegetable skewers are sure to turn out great.
The entire garden of the Oberstaader1 house, where the vacation rental is located, is fenced off for privacy. Of course, the Maisonette vacation rental has its own terrace and section of the garden.
The house is located two kilometers from the Swiss border (Stein am Rhein) and features three apartments that can be connected, offering the option to rent the entire house if desired (max. 12 people).
Please feel free to contact us if this interests you. So far, this option has been used primarily by families. Of course, companies can also take advantage of this accommodation option for their employees during training sessions, etc.
The “Maisonette” vacation rental is designed to a high standard, with particular emphasis placed on quality and comfort. This is evident in the two bedrooms with their restful box-spring beds, in the bathroom with its large walk-in shower featuring an overhead showerhead, and in the kitchen area, which is equipped with professional-grade appliances (filter coffee maker, Nespresso machine, Gaggenau, Miele).
Two French doors connect the living/dining area directly to the patio/garden area, extending the living space during the warmer months. There you’ll find high-quality patio furniture with sunshades, nestled in an idyllic garden oasis.
Free parking and a reliable Wi-Fi connection are available.
Each of the three apartments in the Oberstaader1 building is a completely self-contained vacation rental and is therefore typically booked individually. The option to open the connecting doors between the apartments can only be guaranteed if the entire building is rented.

Where is Maisonette located, and what does Öhningen on the Höri have to offer?
This vacation rental is located in Öhningen and thus right on Lake Constance. Öhningen is the town located directly on the Swiss border. Stein am Rhein lies on the other side of the border and is an absolute medieval gem that you should definitely visit.
Of course, you’ll also be in good hands in Öhningen and its three districts, just as you are everywhere on the Höri with all its hidden gems.
In Öhningen, the imposing monastery complex—the former Augustinian monastery—visible from afar invites you to visit. The monastery was founded in 965. The convent, bailiwick, church, and chapel are impressive.
Öhningen’s restaurants and cafés offer the chance to indulge in culinary delights without having to cook.
By the way, Öhningen’s beach resort also offers dining options and, of course, a beautiful sunbathing lawn plus a sandy beach. This is yet another way Öhningen stands out from all the other beautiful beach resorts on the Höri.
Öhningen has a harbor that invites visitors daily to take boat tours on the scheduled ferries, which run several times a day. Various themed sightseeing cruises are also available.
In the Wangen district, the MuseumsFischerhaus awaits with impressive artifacts to bring history to life for you. There’s also a pile-dwelling house to marvel at.
An absolute highlight is the monastery island of Werd, which is within easy reach for any seasoned walker. You can actually take a short pilgrimage hike directly from Öhningen to the small island of Werd, located in the middle of the lake, where Franciscan monks still reside. If you have the time, they’ll even tell you a little about their lives, and of course, you’re cordially invited to attend the devotions held three times a day, if you’re interested.
Schaffhausen in Switzerland, famous above all for its thundering waterfall, should definitely be on
