North Ka'anapali gives you West Maui's beach life without needing to plan every minute. Start with a swim or a beach walk, then follow the coast toward Ka'anapali Beach and Black Rock for snorkeling. Whalers Village brings dining and shopping to the resort area, while Napili and Kapalua wait farther north for another beach day. Winter often brings humpback whales offshore. Getting Around:

Kahului Airport is Maui's main airport. A rental car is recommended for exploring West Maui's beaches, dining, shops, and coastal sights. Plan on driving for most outings and allow extra time for traffic along the coast.
