About the host
Hosted by Ty Compton
BoxVillages Pecos is a private suite community on 11 acres in Pecos, Texas, minutes from I-20 in the heart of the Permian Basin. It was built for the people working here: crews on long assignments, contractors rotating through, and families relocating for a job. This is not a man camp, an RV park, or a budget motel. Your suite has its own front door, its own full private bathroom, and your own key.
Seven floor plans across three unit types: studio suites, two-bedroom suites, and duplexes. Depending on the layout, suites sleep two to five.
What you get:
Fully furnished. Beds, seating, dining table, and lighting are already in place. Bring a bag and move in.
Your own kitchen space. Full kitchens in some layouts, kitchenettes in others. Either way it is yours, and there is no shared kitchen.
A full private bathroom in every unit.
Air conditioning and heat you control yourself.
High-speed fiber Wi-Fi included. Fast enough for video calls that do not drop.
Laundry. Studio and two-bedroom suites have a washer and dryer in the unit. Duplex guests use the shared laundry facility on site.
Parking at your door. Truck friendly, with room for a work vehicle.
Pet-friendly units available with a simple pet fee. Message us before you book.
On-site storage units for gear and tools.
Interiors are warm and simple: wood cabinetry, leather seating, and plenty of daylight.
The site is quiet at night, which matters when your shift ends at 7 and starts again at 7. Groceries, fuel, and a hot meal are just down the road.
Long stays are welcome. If you need several doors for a crew or a monthly rate for an extended assignment, message us and we will set it up.
Private. Quiet. Yours.
Why they chose this property
Pecos sits in Reeves County, on the Delaware Basin side of the Permian. Reeves County ranks third in Texas for oil and gas produced, with roughly 8,900 wells drilled inside the county line since 1993. If your work is in the basin, it is probably within an hour of your front door.
From here:
I-20 is minutes away. On the interstate and out to the pad without crossing town.
Orla and the northern Reeves and Loving County drilling corridor: about 40 to 50 minutes up Highway 285.
Mentone and the Wink area: about an hour.
Waha and the Coyanosa gas complex: about 30 to 40 minutes southeast. More than a dozen natural gas pipelines interconnect at Waha, and it is the primary trading point for Permian gas.
Fort Stockton: about an hour east. Monahans: about 45 minutes. Odessa: about 75 minutes. Midland: about an hour and 45. Carlsbad and the New Mexico line: about an hour and a half north.
The infrastructure build is happening right on top of us. The Gulf Coast Express expansion, the Blackcomb Pipeline, and Energy Transfer's Hugh Brinson Pipeline are adding roughly 4.5 to 5.3 Bcf/d of new takeaway capacity by late 2026, all originating at or near Waha. Gas processing is expanding too, including 220 MMcf/d added at the Pecos River Processing Complex. Drilling crews, plant and pipeline crews, water and civil contractors, and the power and transmission jobs going in across the county all work out of this stretch of road.
That is the practical part. The other part is coming home to a real place instead of a gravel lot. Groceries, fuel, hardware, restaurants, and the hospital are a few minutes away in town. The site sits back off the road and stays quiet, so night-shift crews can actually sleep during the day.
Whether you are here for a two-week turnaround or a two-year project, you are staying in the middle of the work, not two hours from it.
What makes this property unique
Most lodging in the basin is one of three things: a man camp with a shared hall and a cafeteria, an RV lot, or an old motel with a parking-lot door. BoxVillages Pecos is none of those. It was built from the ground up, on 11 acres, for people on long assignments in the Permian.
The difference is that every suite is a self-contained home. Your own exterior door. Your own full bathroom. Your own kitchen or kitchenette. Your own thermostat. No shared hallways, no shared bathroom, no shared kitchen, no badge at a gate to get to your bed.
Seven furniture plans across three unit types, so the space actually fits the stay. A solo hand on a rotation gets a studio. A two-man crew gets separate beds, not a shared one. A family relocating for a job gets a two-bedroom. A tool pusher who works from the unit gets the layout with the desk. You are not paying for a footprint you do not need or squeezing into one that is too small.
The property runs 237 doors under one operator, which matters more than it sounds. A company can put a whole crew on site, in separate units, under one account, all in the same place. Shift schedules do not collide, and nobody is driving 40 minutes back to a different town at the end of a tour.
Details that come from actually housing working people instead of guessing at it: parking at your door with room for a work truck. Twenty-four on-site storage units for gear and tools that should not live in your cab or your living room. In-unit washer and dryer in most layouts, with an on-site laundry facility for the duplexes. Fiber Wi-Fi that holds up on a video call. Pet-friendly units, because a lot of guys bring the dog. Everything furnished and ready, so you show up with a bag and start work the next morning.
It is owner-operated, not managed from another state. When something breaks you talk to someone who can fix it that day.
