About this property
The Arlene Camano Farmhouse
Welcome to Arlene, a beautifully restored 1914 farmhouse nestled in the heart of Camano Island's historic Utsalady community. Lovingly renovated while preserving her original character, Arlene offers the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern comfort. From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed by the inviting front porch, an ideal place to sip your morning coffee, watch the neighborhood come to life, or unwind at the end of the day as gentle island breezes drift by.
Step inside and discover a home filled with warmth, history, and thoughtful touches. Original hardwood floors and shiplap walls tell the story of more than a century of island living, while tasteful updates provide all the comforts today's travelers appreciate. The comfortable living room invites you to curl up with a good book, enjoy a movie night, or simply relax after a day of exploring Camano Island's beaches, parks, and scenic shoreline.
The farmhouse comfortably accommodates up to four guests with two thoughtfully appointed bedrooms and two beautifully renovated bathrooms. The primary suite features a queen bed, quality linens, and a private ensuite bathroom, creating a peaceful retreat for restful nights. The second bedroom offers a comfortable full-size bed and easy access to the home's second bathroom. Plush towels, cozy bedding, and attention to detail ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Spend an afternoon reading beneath the trees, enjoying a meal outdoors, or simply soaking in the slower pace of island life. Families, couples, and friends alike will appreciate the space to spread out and savor the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
One of Arlene's greatest treasures is her location. Situated near historic Utsalady Bay, you'll be just minutes from local dining, shopping, golf courses, beaches, parks, and some of Camano Island's most beloved attractions. In the evening, head toward the bay and watch spectacular sunsets paint the sky as the sun dips below the horizon.
Camano Island is known as the "Island Without Ferries," making it an easy and stress-free destination for a weekend escape or extended vacation. Explore nearby state parks, stroll along driftwood-covered beaches, search for sea glass, watch eagles and herons soar overhead, or spend the day kayaking, paddleboarding, golfing, or visiting local art studios and wineries. It was a lovely place to stay. I absolutely loved the enclosed dining area with surrounding windows. I loved the bathrooms, especially the tiles. I also loved the open field behind the house, the privacy and the quiet surroundings. The nights we spent around the outdoor fireplace were an absolute pleasure. Great place for a family vacation.
The Arlene was an amazing home. Squeaky clean, good beds, quiet and exactly as indicated. The restoration done on this home brought it back to life! It is a little slice of heaven. We will be back.
This was a great little house and the pictures are totally accurate. The house was very large and had everything you could need. The bed was comfortable and included some down pillows that we absolutely loved. There isn’t any air conditioning which I thought might be a problem because my husband runs hot, but opening a window in the evening solved that problem! There wasn’t really anything I needed that I didn’t find in the house. We stayed 7 nights and coming back from exploring each evening was like coming back home. It’s so much nicer than staying in a hotel for sure! The location was on point for us because we traveled to Vancouver, the Whidbey Islands, Mt Baker, Mt Rainier, and Seattle. It’s very convenient if you want to go lots of places and you don’t necessarily want to get stuck in Seattle traffic. We hope to return one day for another stay!
Everything was wonderful and we had a lovely time! The only thing we didn’t expect is that the property’s treated well water smells slightly, if we had known we would have stocked up on bottled water to bring along. We will be back, the kids loved it! The big yard was great for exploring and playing soccer, and the inside of the home was impeccably clean and cozy.
Simply one of the very best VRBOs I have ever stayed in!! Camano Island is a beautiful area of Washington and close to everything you would want to do ! The renovation of the “Arlene” is amazing , you can see the whole story in a photo book the owners have displayed in the home!!
My husband and I and our adult son stayed at the Arlene as a home base visiting family in Stanwood and exploring the local area. It is a lovely property in a quiet neighborhood. Clean and comfortable with decor that is not fussy and overwhelming. We were sorry not to be there enough to use the fire pit and all the kitchen gadgets. Will try to book it for future trips.
Wonderful stay at the Arlene. Marla was an excellent host. The home was so nice and clean and had just enough of the old farmhouse charm with a great modern bath(s) and kitchen. We enjoyed our stay!
Superb home in impeccable shape, restored to its original beauty and charm! Very warm and comfortable, perfect for either a weekend or long-term stay as we did!! Highly recommend this property, we’ve already encouraged other family members to consider it for future visits!
This property worked great for our late summer mini to getaway. It was homey, comfy, clean, had everything we needed (and more), and had a nice open yard for running around. We appreciated the small welcoming touches and the generous check-in and check-out times. We would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Arlene - it is a beautiful property and setting and the owners really did a wonderful job renovating and decorating it. We had everything we needed and would gladly stay here again!
The home is a clean and quaint, and a quick drive to restaurants and the beach. The hosts are very kind, and the home has all of the amenities one could need to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
