About this property
The Arlene Camano Farmhouse
Welcome to Arlene, a beautifully restored 1914 farmhouse nestled in the heart of Camano Island's historic Utsalady community. Lovingly renovated while preserving her original character, Arlene offers the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern comfort. From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed by the inviting front porch, an ideal place to sip your morning coffee, watch the neighborhood come to life, or unwind at the end of the day as gentle island breezes drift by.
Step inside and discover a home filled with warmth, history, and thoughtful touches. Original hardwood floors and shiplap walls tell the story of more than a century of island living, while tasteful updates provide all the comforts today's travelers appreciate. The comfortable living room invites you to curl up with a good book, enjoy a movie night, or simply relax after a day of exploring Camano Island's beaches, parks, and scenic shoreline.
The farmhouse comfortably accommodates up to four guests with two thoughtfully appointed bedrooms and two beautifully renovated bathrooms. The primary suite features a queen bed, quality linens, and a private ensuite bathroom, creating a peaceful retreat for restful nights. The second bedroom offers a comfortable full-size bed and easy access to the home's second bathroom. Plush towels, cozy bedding, and attention to detail ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The fully equipped kitchen makes dining easy, whether you're preparing a hearty breakfast before a day of adventure, packing a picnic for the beach, or gathering around the table for a leisurely dinner. Stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils, and essential kitchen amenities, it's designed to feel like home from the moment you arrive. A full laundry area is also available for your convenience, making extended stays effortless.
Outside, you'll find a spacious yard dotted with fruit trees and plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Spend an afternoon reading beneath the trees, enjoying a meal outdoors, or simply soaking in the slower pace of island life. Families, couples, and friends alike will appreciate the space to spread out and savor the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
One of Arlene's greatest treasures is her location. Situated near historic Utsalady Bay, you'll be just minutes from local dining, shopping, golf courses, beaches, parks, and some of Camano Island's most beloved attractions. Take a leisurely walk or bike ride along one of the island's oldest roads, where charming historic homes, waterfront views, and towering evergreens create a timeless setting. In the evening, head toward the bay and watch spectacular sunsets paint the sky as the sun dips below the horizon.
Camano Island is known as the "Island Without Ferries," making it an easy and stress-free destination for a weekend escape or extended vacation. Explore nearby state parks, stroll along driftwood-covered beaches, search for sea glass, watch eagles and herons soar overhead, or spend the day kayaking, paddleboarding, golfing, or visiting local art studios and wineries. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or a little of both, you'll find it here.
Arlene is more than just a vacation rental. She's a lovingly restored farmhouse with a story to tell, offering guests the opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and experience the charm of Camano Island from a truly special home. Everything was wonderful and we had a lovely time! The only thing we didn’t expect is that the property’s treated well water smells slightly, if we had known we would have stocked up on bottled water to bring along. We will be back, the kids loved it! The big yard was great for exploring and playing soccer, and the inside of the home was impeccably clean and cozy.
Simply one of the very best VRBOs I have ever stayed in!! Camano Island is a beautiful area of Washington and close to everything you would want to do ! The renovation of the “Arlene” is amazing , you can see the whole story in a photo book the owners have displayed in the home!!
My husband and I and our adult son stayed at the Arlene as a home base visiting family in Stanwood and exploring the local area. It is a lovely property in a quiet neighborhood. Clean and comfortable with decor that is not fussy and overwhelming. We were sorry not to be there enough to use the fire pit and all the kitchen gadgets. Will try to book it for future trips.
Wonderful stay at the Arlene. Marla was an excellent host. The home was so nice and clean and had just enough of the old farmhouse charm with a great modern bath(s) and kitchen. We enjoyed our stay!
Superb home in impeccable shape, restored to its original beauty and charm! Very warm and comfortable, perfect for either a weekend or long-term stay as we did!! Highly recommend this property, we’ve already encouraged other family members to consider it for future visits!
This property worked great for our late summer mini to getaway. It was homey, comfy, clean, had everything we needed (and more), and had a nice open yard for running around. We appreciated the small welcoming touches and the generous check-in and check-out times. We would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Arlene - it is a beautiful property and setting and the owners really did a wonderful job renovating and decorating it. We had everything we needed and would gladly stay here again!
The home is a clean and quaint, and a quick drive to restaurants and the beach. The hosts are very kind, and the home has all of the amenities one could need to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
This would be our second stay at Arlene’s. The farmhouse has everything you could need, beds are excellent, kitchen is fully stocked, used the grill regularly. Best front porch to watch your day start or your evening end. We made it to the Stanwood community fair, Friday farmers market, trivia on Wednesday at pub 282, kayaked on lake Howard and got in 10 rounds of golf. Can’t wait to get back next year…
My husband and I had the best 2 weeks at this property. Marla's communication was awesome answered questions quickly. She left us Crumbl Cookies which was a big hit with our family. We would absolutely stay there again.
We are repeat customers at this location and we just love it. The owners did an awesome job at renovating this farmhouse, we had everything we needed to cook while onsite (which is a big thing for us); the location on Camano Island is also beautiful and relatively close to Stanwood where you have more options for provisions and dining as well.
