No ferry lines here, drive right onto Camano Island and start enjoying life on the beach, just out the back door. The Cabin has two bedrooms and one bath, in a cozy 1000 square feet, perfect for couples, or small families looking to escape city living. The master bedroom has a queen bed and direct access to the bath. The second bedroom has a bunk bed: single mattress on top; full mattress below, with access to the bath across the hall. All bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen has the pots, pans and utensils you will need to prepare a meal, or enjoy some of the restaurants on Camano, or in Stanwood. Please use the map to the right to locate shops, restaurants and other nearby attractions. Outdoor living is what this cabin is all about! Few areas on Camano offer shallow water that gets warm enough to swim and tube in (tubes included). Expansive decks and a 'boardwalk' leading to the cabin make this experience unique. Six person outdoor dining, umbrella and lounge chairs provide a perfect place to enjoy the Puget Sound, views of Mt. Rainier, and wildlife like cranes and Bald Eagles.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin. Group of 5 friends that enjoyed wine on the deck watching the sunsets, evening swims when the tide came in, and lots of laughter! Cabin had everything we needed and owner was quick to reply if we had any questions. Would definitely stay here again.
Photos didn't do the property justice; very clean and thoughtful touches; easy communication with host; overall a great time and would highly recommend.
Great place to access Camano Island from and get away from the hustle of the city! Plants around the place brought in Hummingbirds that were fun to watch while enjoying the deck area
We loved our stay at this cabin. It was located near Stanwood so we could run to town for groceries and picked up dinner one night at Jimmy's. They have great pizza. The home is fragrance free and you must keep your shoes outside. A few pages of instructions come with the stay. It's probably best suited for tidy people. It was great for a weekend get away with my 20 something daughters.
Everything was as described, nice little cabin with a wonderful view. Especially appreciated the detailed instruction packet and the fragrance free accommodations.
We had a quick 2-night getaway and the cabin was perfect for myself and two young kids. Beautiful views and clean, comfortable accommodations. We had everything we needed to relax. We hope to be back next summer!
Such a lovely space. Not fancy but just what was needed to be the perfect get a way.

Thanks again for choosing our Cabin. Your point is a good one and worth elaborating on: our Cabin is a 50+ year old cedar cabin. It is quaint and cozy, but it is not fancy. If it is Sub-Zeros and Wolfs you are looking for this isn’t the place. But we do have everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing retreat.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was the perfect getaway. The home was fantastic and the views were incredible. We had absolutely no issues. I absolutely recommend this property.

Thanks so much for the great review! We truly appreciate conscientious and respectful guests like you all. We hope you all return again soon. The fall and winter storms are fun to watch.
Thanks again,

Great experience at this cozy cabin. Kitchen was very well equipped. Beds were clean and comfortable. Outdoor entertainment space was great although it rained most of the time so didn't get to use it. Would highly recommend.
We chose this property because of it's location on the water. It's also super helpful that the tide goes out so far each day so the kids didn't spend every waking moment in the water which would require Nana and Papa's constantly being in the water with them. We did use the BBQ once and it ran out of propane. Other then that everything was exactly what we expected.

Hi Carol, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Sorry to hear about the propane, we do have a full spare cylinder we keep in the shed. Next time just let us know if you experience any issues like that, we're happy to help!
We really enjoyed the quiet cabin, fully stocked kitchen, detailed information about the cabin, and smooth check in/check out process. Only thing we wished we had known more about was the tide as it was mostly out during prime day hours (but we still enjoyed exploring the mud during the day and tubing after 8 pm). Note: many of the fridge/condiments are expired by 2 yrs so you may want to toss these soon.
Thank you!

Thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry the tide was out for much of your stay. That is not always the case, in some circumstances we experience high tides in the morning and afternoon/evenings. Some special days we have water easily accessible all day long. We hope you all choose to return, and if you do check the tide schedule, its usually pretty accurate. We we review the condiment expiration dates, thank you.
Special location in lovely cabin for besties to relax!
Charming little beach cabin situated right along the shoreline. Beautiful views, driftwood and sea birds .
Because the weather was blustery we stayed inside nearly every moment. Gale force winds and sideways rain were crazy. Even the locals said it was wild!
We did go to CamaBeach and had a nice brunch at the lodge with fabulous service
The house was comfy but had a bit of challenging lighting. It was a mystery as to where some of the light switches were located! But we had a wonderful time! Tnx

Overall clean home. Bed was comfortable, nice deck. Cusions on outside chairs would be welcome. Barbecue needs update. A little difficult for older folk to climb over driftwood, I am sure a small or easier path would be greatly appreciated to enjoy the beach more. There is some noise from Naval Jets. Need a high high tide to go floating otherwise you trek a long way in mud. Overall it was a great stay and we enjoyed getting away from the city. Thank you for sharing.

Hello, and thanks so much for taking the time to provide feedback.
We take great pride in offering the very best experience for our guests, and that includes everything/anything we have control over. Many of the items you mention we can't control.
As we mention in the Welcome Packet issued to all of our guests:
- depending on recent storms there may or may not be driftwood on the beach. We understand that when present it can be challenging to cross. However driftwood shores are considered a unique, protected ecosystem in Washington, so it can't be removed or altered: https://www.dnr.wa.gov/Publications/em_fs11_023.pdf
From our deck you can see brown squirrels, weasels, osprey, heron and a variety of bird species make their home on, and/or hunt around the driftwood.
- obviously the driftwood comes and goes because of the tidal nature of the Sound. Again something we mention in our literature. So yes, at low tide you would have to walk sometimes a great distance to reach the water, but at most high tides you can reach the water directly on the beach.
- there are occasional (once, maybe sometimes twice/day) jets from Whidbey flying at high altitude. You can hear them for a brief time, but it's not like they are taking off from nearby the island... again not something we can control.
Of the items you mentioned we maybe could control I am including links to the propane grill we offer for use so there are not any illusions about what guests can expect. It is provided as an amenity and we consider it an upgrade from a charcoal grill, pictured is a slightly newer model but the same configuration: https://www.amazon.com/Char-Broil-Performance-2-Burner-Cabinet-Stainless/dp/B01HID4Y7Q/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=charbroil+small+propane+grill&qid=1597681048&sr=8-14
Our patio dining set is similar to the the following, complete with rocking chairs that are not designed for cushions, but perhaps we can look into small indoor/outdoor throw pillows for lower back support: https://www.google.com/search?q=patio+dining+furniture,+rocking+chairs&tbm=isch&sxsrf=ALeKk01VWW0myw71EpmivVIKXP0MDxaxvg:1597681603496&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjF28Lj06LrAhUIup4KHT4vBiIQ_AUIpAUoAQ&biw=1350&bih=721#imgrc=Z4mqkBwKYMGw0M
I hope by including this information our future guests have a more clear understanding of what they can expect.
Again we appreciate your stay at our Cabin and the very conscientious and respectful way you left it's condition. We hope you will return in the future.

The home was very cozy and quaint. We didn’t expect an 8 page guideline that we received the day prior to our stay. We felt if there were such rules as chemical free these should be posted in the listing but they weren’t hard to follow. We received keys but only one worked and we couldn’t find the shed to unlock, perhaps this was on the back porch but it had a padlock so no luck there. There also is a massive wasp infestation on the back of the house that needs to be addressed. I took pictures if you’d like to see. My husband is highly allergic and this caused concern during our visit. Otherwise everything was nice.

It sounds like a number of these issues could have been solved with better communication. We didn't hear from you at all during your stay, but we are always accessible via txt, call or email.
First, yes we do have a rather extensive Welcome Packet that addresses just about everything having to do with the Cabin, but we can't force anyone to read 8 pages if thats too much, or if they choose not to. One of the headings in the packet is "The Shed" including how to access it:
"The Shed
As mentioned before the silver key on the ring opens the sheds on left side of the house if looking from the beach. In the shed you will find a couple of children’s life jackets, some beach toys and games, and 5 adult rings/tubes and two childrens’ rings/tubes for your enjoyment. There are also two folding lounge chairs and two folding cocktail tables for your enjoyment."
As for the wasp "infestation" we had guests staying immediately before your visit and we received no complaints about wasps whatsoever. In any case, had you contacted us we could have visited during your stay and fixed the issue. Wasps are common on the island and can make nests rapidly.
If one were to read our other reviews they would see how many comments there are about our responsiveness and communication. We will always respond, and if we can't fix an issue ourselves our maintenance team will. But again, we can't help if we don't know there is an issue.
