Pride House.In addition to your private entrance there is a shared entrance/outside lounge area, which is used for entrance to the upstairs residence. Also there is a shared outdoor shower and shared basement laundry room for your use.

Pride House , was built in 1932 and was one of the first houses built on this sand barrage, with no electricity until 1962. The house had four wood burning stoves and kerosene lamps to light the house. Water had to be pumped from a well. The house had clear view to the bay and the ocean with no other houses around to blocking the view, no large plants or trees, just sand .. Pride House, was named after Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice " novel the original owner's favourite author , there was a guest cottage named prejudice.. that was sold many years ago...many famous and influential people stayed in Pride House over the years especially when it was first built. There would be big parties and events thrown ,include plays performed at the house by the original owners friends from the theatre . These parties and events would be described in the society columns of the day.

Pride House is in the older west side of the Grove . Houses are a little bit older and there's more trees and a little bit quieter ..shared with the wildlife like deer and fox, rabbit, and lots of birds and turtles, and butterflies it's an enchanting special place.

Pride House has survived some of the largest hurricanes ever to hit North America. It's a testimony to how well things were built back in the day.
